    Anyone else?

I had my gastric bypass done Oct 23rd. While in the hospital immediately following surgery I developed loose bowels. Still as of today Jan 5th I still have this issue. I constantly feel nauseous and get frequent urges to go, which I always end up going. I'm following all directions, and when I advised the doctors/PA/dietian, etc... They all say the nausea will go away. If I'd have known my body was going to react this way I would have definitely rethought about it. I'm now also dealing with my 2nd UTI in a month! I have another appointment scheduled on the 13th but I'm not feeling optimistic. Anyone else with these issues, if so any suggestions?

    Any December surgery

Yikes! I’m glad you are okay! What made you go there, was it like bad pain? So scary!

    So....I got approved!!!!

Thank you so much that is wonderful advice and I will take heed! So my official surgery date is March 17th and I start pre-op March 2nd. She said when I go in to sign my consent forms I will also have my pre admin testing done, I’m like god more testing lol but she said it’s just a urine and chest xray abs updated lab work. I’m not sure what she meant by updated lab work though. Is that more blood being drawn?

    Graham crackers

Never. They are sugar and processed carbs - the kind of food that got me in trouble in the first place. My "sweet fix" are a couple of frozen Medjool dates.

    Heart burn? Ulcer? Help!

I'm really surprised you weren't scoped pre-op. But anyway, there is nothing to it. A little IV is the worst of it. You take a very sweet nap, wake up, and go to breakfast. Really. I work in the GI department of our hospital and it really is not a big deal. The procedure is very short, but you wake up feeling great. The thing is it's really the only way to know if there is an ulcer, and you do want to know this. You don't want an ulcer to go on and get worse. They are treatable, but it's always better to find out sooner than later.

    Weight loss

By day 60 post op, I had lost 54 pounds, which includes 15 pounds lost on the pre op diet. BUT EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT! It doesn't matter if you lose fast or slow. You cannot control that as long as you are following your plan. I lost fast, but had terrible body dysmorphia from the rapid change. I think losing slower has advantages in that area. But we really don't have a choice in how we lose - just the choice to stick with the plan. Hang in there! Don't get caught up in comparing your numbers with everyone else. It is interesting, but the journey is unique for each person.

    Still a virgin at 46

I know it's rare, but not everyone goes for looks. I've been big all my life, but I have always had big boobs and lots of confidence and it has helped with dating and such. I have always had my internal struggles though and I understand where you're coming from. If you ever need to talk or vent you can shoot me a message. Good things come in time and you will find someone that wants you for you! Also I think most guys are just generally not great at taking pics and they tend to not be flattering no matter what size they are. If you have a female friend that you're comfortable with I'd say ask her to help you take some fun pics! They don't have to be nudes, just maybe your hobbies or something that shows the real you!
