    4 year Sleeve Anniversary

I had my Gastric Sleeve in November 2016. Starting weight 485 lbs. Current weight 220 lbs. To say it changed my life would be an understatement. If you are on the fence about having this surgery, take my word for it. It works!

    inches instead of pounds?

I never tied actual numerical measurements to my measurements.. BUT... the day before my surgery I pulled out some string and wrapped it around my belly, hips, thigh, arm, etc. and cut them exactly to the size.. I attached masking tape to each piece to label what was what measurement and keep them all in my backpack. I pull them out every now & then and can re-wrap around each place and see the MAJOR difference in size. Though I've never actually measured, I still can compare so easily.

I agree with above Chicken NO GO - Seems lot of us had problems with chicken. I would say Hamburger, Shrimp, fish to start. Soft Protiens. Even though you are going to test your tool trust us all Take you time DO not overeat or you will pay for it. Once you get the hang of it will never be a problem but you are new to this and the learning curve has not started.

    Pre-op liquid diet is Bullsh*t!!!

I know exactly what you mean about just wanting to crunch something. I did end up doing gum and a few ice pops. I am now post-op and still on liquid diet. Luckily not clear liquids so I can have cream soup and stuff like that. My wife made me an enchilada soup tonight and blended and strained it, but holy crap it would have been amazing with the tortilla chips my kids were making nachos out of!!!

Thanks so much for the info! I've never heard of Built Bars, but will look into them. I have a bunch of Premier Protein shakes onhand, but was told they're off-limits as they're not on the "recommended" list for my specific bariatric program. Sucks because they are 30g of protein and I figure it's better than nothing. I follow the protein first rule as well, but as I mentioned, I can only eat so much of it before I'm full/very uncomfortable. BTW....glad I'm not the only one who can't stand Unjury! LOL! I keep getting told by my dietician and doctor that it's not that bad...YES, it is! LOL!!!
