Congratulations on your surgery, and welcome to the rest of your life!!!! I'm so sorry for the hurtful comments you've endured over the years. People can be jerks!

Screw People who are negative. My wife is in the same situation now. I am thin and she is big. So i understand how it will take a emotional toll. All i here from Family and Friends is when is Kim going to get the surgery? My response Mind you own F@#ckin business. But she gets upset and it makes her sad. Now you just focus on yourself and getting healthy and Happy. Everyone here will guide and help As for staying Corona Free I find it hard to stay empty handed on the boat or beach

    Too much weight losd

it's not up to them - it's up to you. If you're comfortable with it - fine. If you want to lose more - fine.

    Nervous and unsure

I travel internationally a lot and I can try a little bit of anything I want. But my stomach is small so I can't eat huge quantities at a time. That's the tool of the WLS -- to keep me from overeating. When you travel you can focus on the culture and the scenery and try little samples of the food. It's not a prison sentence. It's a wake-up call.

After a couple of years you will be able to eat a significant amount at a time. At that point it becomes much easier to regain weight however. Research long term out comes.

    Too much weight losd

I have been struggling with intermittent severe nausea during the 18 months after WLS. My weight last month dipped to 117.6, but now I am back to 120.6. Every time I have had an extended bout of nausea, which has lasted days, my weight drops because I have trouble eating even 50% of my necessary daily calories. My nutritionist has me drinking Ensure Plus when I can't eat, eating creamy soups, oatmeal, avocado, nuts, and other healthy fatty foods. She also said I should have a small meal before bedtime each night. I need to stabilize my weight so that I hover around 124-125 lbs. But we can't figure out why I'm having prolonged nausea and how to remedy it. So far, I have not tested as having malnutrition. I take vitamins daily. My one concern is that I am a bit protein deficient right now even though I take protein supplements every day.

I didn't actively get into eating fruits until 3 months out (other than an unsweetened applesauce cup or the fruit that was in my greek yogurt) but I did have SOME veggies when in soft food stage. One of my favorites to make was a veggie soup with carrots, onion, zucchini, squash, mushrooms, peppers, and vegetable stock. I also started making no-noodle lasagna which is made using zucchini instead of noodles (it's delicious). So early on it's not so much a worry if you don't get a ton of fruits and veggies in as long as get SOME it's better than none.

    Up All Night

I could only have about 1.5-2 oz of ground beef, or other meat in a sitting at that time. If I had one bite too much, the same thing would happen to me. Pain, nausea, endless saliva, some foam, more pain. Still happens if I eat too quickly, but the symptoms pass much more quickly now. I have only had literally one bite of pasta on two separate occasions since surgery, so not sure how I would have reacted to that. Pasta is a trigger food for me, so I plan to avoid it for the most part. Maybe once I hit maintenance I will have some once in a while.

That is really unkind. you've lost weight and gotten healthier. I'm sorry they aren't being more supportive, you have so much to be proud of! be kind to yourself.

I had a horrible experience with the gastric sleeve and the dr. whom performed the surgery, however that's neither here nor there at this point. I nearly died, have been fighting every since. I healed with extreme issues, had to have them corrected and had to start all over at stage 1. Now I am so unhappy because I cant eat more than 3 tiny bites of anything and stomach hurts with even water. I have had dilatation treatments which are working wonders. I often get asked was it worth it because of how much weight I have lost. I have been going thru too much to actually enjoy my weight loss so Im asking others do they regret it or think it was worth it. I started out at 475lbs, I am currently 198lbs and losing 4-8lbs every week and a half. I am now on more meds than I was before the surgery. I lost soo much weight that my heart has not slowed down at all so they had to slow my heart down with meds.
