    BIG DEAL!🥴

it's the infamous three week stall. Almost all of us go through it. It's not always the third week (but it is for most of us) - but at some point within the first 4-6 weeks after surgery, almost all of us go through our first major stall. Mine was weeks 2 & 3. Didn't lose a lb. Then during week 4, the stall finally broke and I lost like 6-8 lbs within a couple of days. Just continue to follow your program and stay off the scale for a few days if you need to - and know that it WILL break! And also know that you'll likely hit these several times during your journey. It's all part of the game...

    BIG DEAL!🥴

I’m a bit bummed! I weigh myself on Sundays, and last week I was 189, This week - get ready for it! 188!!! Anybody else have the 4th week slump? I guess I should be glad I didn’t GAIN! It’s not the ultimate worst thing, just thinking of how hard it is to go through all this and find I lost so little. I know one big thing has changed from before surgery. I used to do better going to the bathroom, but since being on these vitamins with iron, things have quickly changed. So I’m in the middle of changing my multivitamin and adding magnesium which I took presurgery, so I’m hoping I will begin to lose better again. I’ve also changed to a lower protein shake, and that may be affecting it as well. I have begun to add flavorless protein to some of my food, so I hope that will help as well. Does anyone else have some words of wisdom they could share with me, and have many of you gone thru this same phenomena as well, please chime in! Misery loves company!😫🎉🤣 Still tryin! And thanks ahead of time!

    Surgery this morning!

Okay, today's the day and I can't believe it! I've taken my preop anti nausea medication and had my presurgery shake and will be heading to the surgery center here in about 25 minutes. I'm nervous but not as worried as I was last night. Prayed and cried a lot last night but feeling much more at ease now. Did write myself a letter to reference going forward and one for my mom in the super rare event I don't make it home(it puts me more at eas. I don't think I'd be as ready without these forums, so thank you everyone for your input and guidance! It is my turn to hit the loser's bench! Anyone else going in this morning? Pre-op blues

I thought I wanted the sleeve, as well, but ended up with bypass due to my GERD. I do not regret it at all. My GERD is gone, including the Barrett's esophagitis that had progressed to the point of a precancerous polyp. Malabsorption has not been a nutritional issue. All my vitamin and mineral labs are fine. Malabsorption actually starts to resolve after a couple of years, as the jejunum starts to take over the absorption role that the duodenum used to perform. Bypass surgery has been around for a long time. The procedure is just as safe as a sleeve and it works. I'm glad I had it. I lost weight quickly and have maintained easily.

New to this... surgery is on 12/15

You should call the hospital and ask them about leaving. I could not leave on my own. I had to uber my son to the hospital to go home. For the liquid diet I was told broth clear like fluids only w/ 1 small daily meal. Lastly I turned out to be highly allergic. If possible I recommend asking what they use to clean and patch you up and see if you can get an allergy test prior.

    The serious conversation "oh snap"

I don't think it's going to make much, if any, difference. The sagginess is due to overly stretched out, damaged skin that isn't likely to bounce back. But it depends somewhat on how long you've been overweight, too - I knew there was no hope for mine bouncing back regardless of how fast or slow I lost weight. I just wanted to lose as much weight as I possibly could during the "honeymoon" period, since I knew it would get harder after that (and it does...)

    Liquid diet ideas

Plain broth is gross to me, instead I cook a can of chicken noodle soup and just strain it and toss the chicken and noodles out. So good.
