I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I would make an appt with your PCP to discuss. Irritability is a common symptom of anxiety (as is poor sleep), so perhaps some low dose meds or counseling would help if that's the case? Best of luck to you!!

    Revision due to GERD

Thank you Grace🙏 My surgery was actually 2014. It’s been so long that I forgot 😛 I recently had an arm lift, tummy tuck & breast lift. Which is another reason I don’t want to do it. I take omeprazole daily. I have not met with another surgeon. I’m sure it’s inevitable though😭

    Having my sleeve surgery tomorrow!

Hello, As someone who has endured multiple surgeries & realizing each person responds differently to surgery & post -op, you will do great! You will be euphorically happy. It is normal to have apprehension, the surgery will be over & you will resume the beautiful life you are entitled. I look forward to hearing all about it. All my best - Grace

Congratulations! I had a bypass on November 5th. I was worried about pain and what recovery would be like. I spent two nights in the hospital and had plenty of pain meds while there. I also took pain meds when I got home but not nearly as many. Get up and walk more than they tell you to. It can be exhausting at first but it really does help with gas pains you may have. Follow your surgeons advice, ask lots of questions if things are not clear. I am 10 days out and get tired but my husband and I hung new blinds a few days ago so I figure I am not doing too bad at this point. Good luck tomorrow!

Do you have an awesome doctor?

Thats so sweet 😊 I think I had a really good surgeon. I did mine inthe UK at parkside hospital with Dr . Vasilikosta. I have social anxiety so I am not easy to be around . But he was really nice to me, friendly and understanding. We bumped elbows (instead of fist bumping , because covid) at the end haha. The surgery itself went really well. I woke up with little pain, not much gas pain and could drink relatively easily.

I lost 23 pounds the first month HOWEVER, you started out at a hundred pounds less than me. So 17 pounds in the first month is fantastic! Be proud, you're doing great!

    Coffee...oh how I miss it

I think it's all about moderation. I bought decaf and at my first post follow up, I mentioned that the decaf wasn't doing it for me. My surgeon asked how much coffee I drank and I said one large cup each morning and that's it. He said it would be fine. I stopped using creamer and started using Premier Protein Caramel or Fairlife Vanilla plus collagen protein, so it's a protein bomb too!

you're in the three-week stall. Happens to almost everyone. Just stick to your program and stay off the scale if you have to. It usually lasts 1-3 weeks. as for the 2 lb bump up, if you've been following your plan, that's not a true weight gain. Could be water retention or constipation. Or maybe a hormone-related gain. Just give it a couple of days.

    Stopped Losing Weight

I have had the same issue. I lost 20 pounds in the first week after surgery, then after that I was just gaining and losing the same 5 pounds...then 3 pounds and now I'm just stalled. 24 pounds down for month 1. I am just now entering my second month and I log everything I eat and drink. I usually net about 400-600 cals a day. I started just walking a mile or 2 after dinner and it seemed to help, also I was not drinking enough water, so I've been making it a point to just keep a 40 oz bottle on hand and sip all day, and refill once more and sip all evening. I've been in this gain/loss/stall since Oct. 5th actually. But the inches are definitely coming off! Log everything, and eventually it will break the stall I think! I'm telling myself that everyday at least.
