    Officially Not Fatty Matty

    I’m not obese!

So for the first time since probably middle school (30 years ago! (Omg that hurt)) I’m not technically obese per BMI charts! Broke below 240 this morning which puts me at 29. I have a friend who’s a pro body builder and he’s technically obese too without a lick of fat on him so I don’t really give much credit to those charts but I’ll take the little wins wherever I can!

2 months until my PS!!! It seemed so long ago when I booked it, but now it will be here soon! I'm increasing my iron intake in prep for surgery (esp for pre-surgery labwork). Will start doing pre-reqs next month (labs, mammogram, chest xrays, etc), so that will keep me busy! Fun stuff!!

    Coffee...oh how I miss it

I think it's all about moderation. I bought decaf and at my first post follow up, I mentioned that the decaf wasn't doing it for me. My surgeon asked how much coffee I drank and I said one large cup each morning and that's it. He said it would be fine. I stopped using creamer and started using Premier Protein Caramel or Fairlife Vanilla plus collagen protein, so it's a protein bomb too!

    Scheduled surgery today.

Last January I started this journey. I started to get the tests done and then part way through as we all know Covid stopped almost everything. Then in August I started getting the remainder of my tests complete. And today I scheduled my surgery! Still have a few appointments for pre op and to meet with the surgeon to discuss which procedure I will have. But as long as a resurgence of Covid doesn’t happen till next year I will be having my surgery on December 14th. Hopefully enough time to recover and feel better before Christmas and my one son’s birthday on the 30th. Still not sure how to feel. It all happened so fast after nothing happening for so long. I know the surgery will be best now as I am Pre-diabetic. Blood pressure is easily controlled by meds and I’m still relatively young at 43. For being 320 that’s really the limit of my health problems so I know it’s a good time. Plus I have 5 kids and a wife to provide for and be around for. Sorry for rambling. Just trying to process it all right now.

    Regained weight support

Welcome to the forums. You already know the solution, as you discussed in your post. So far, you haven't done it consistently. You know this is the problem. You need to figure out a way to do your plan consistently. Get rid of all those things you already know are you problem. Good luck, Tek

Since your starting BMI was a 43, I think you are probably with me in the "little big girl" category. Folks who have more to lose will lose faster; they just will. But, since you are starting smaller, you will still get to your goal fairly quickly. I have set my expectations at losing 10 lbs per month; If I hit something close to that, I will be thrilled. And hey, at that rate, in December, I should be a size 6. I haven't been a size 6 since I was 17 years old, so I guess I can wait another eight months. Remember, you didn't put this on overnight, it won't go away overnight either. The sleeve is a tool, not a magic wand.
