Thanks for the advice everyone! I guess I was more looking for soft things I can eat for the next few days that have become a new food you turn to when you’re sick that’s still a healthy alternative to your old comfort foods. Although I’d love those iHop pancakes right now & I could get some down if I really wanted to, I won’t because that would certainly be a slippery slope for me. Mashed potatoes & cream of wheat in my allotted amounts will suffice, I just thought something different might cheer me up a bit. Thanks again!!

There are pancake mixes out there with high protein. Flap Jacked brand is one of them I have tried it and they are pretty good. Another high protein offering is Kodiak Cakes brand. They have a mix you can make yourself or I have seen premade pancakes and waffles in my local grocery store. You need to make sure you are following your plan and can have these in you diet at 5 weeks out. At 5 weeks on was on soft food, but you should clear it with your doctor or dietician. My presurgery endoscope found a Barrett's polyp that could have turned cancerous. So again, like others, a good thing to find while it is still treatable. BTW, surgery completely resolved my GERD and reversed the Barrett's esophagus. Amazing!

    Getting water in at work

It is hard for me to get in enough at work, as well, since I am in a clinical area. What I do is drink 16 oz of herbal tea as soon as I get up, and I try to get another 16 oz in on my way to work. By the time I get there, it is time to pee off the first mug. I then try to get 16 oz during the day, and then 16 oz again in the evening. By keeping on this schedule, I can get 64 oz in on a work day.

There are some decent low carb pancake recipes out there using almond flour. They aren't just like the real thing, but they aren't terrible either. I got in the habit of making them during a 7 month run of doing keto and I still make them now because my kids seem to like them. But yes to echo some of the others trying to avoid food for comfort is a great way to keep yourself out of trouble. I struggle with that plenty myself. I've actually taken to carrying a "challenge" coin around with me that I grab when I'm thinking of going for something to eat and not really hungry as a reminder of what I'm trying to accomplish. It doesn't always work, but I think it works more often than not at getting me to refocus and direct myself towards a healthier activity.

4 days post op I had the sleeve

Like STLoser - I was weak for at least 3 weeks too, but it will go away in time. I've never been more tired in my life and just getting up to go to the bathroom was laboring.
