Welcome to the forums. Hopefully, you've learned what your post-op program looks like and how it works. Depending on the requirements it will make sense to have at least a few options available for the first week. Your tastes may change a bit for a while, so variety may help find something you like. Have a comfortable chair/recliner, or minimally pillows that can prop you up. Sitting up was often more comfortable than laying down. During your 3 day liquids, protein drinks, broths, soups (only liquid part), are anything comparable. I was never on a liquid diet preop or post-op, but when I do such I go for big flavor. Good luck. A few milestones this week

I thought I'd log in with a few updates today. I started this process back on July 31st with a high weight of 284. I lost 34 lbs before surgery on Sept. 21st and weighed in at 233.2 this morning. The two big milestones are that I passed 50 lbs lost and I am now a BMI of 34, which means I'm only "obese" instead of "morbidly obese". I have a long way to go to my 180 target, but I am happy about the progress so far.

    Inspiration on Instagram!!**

I have struggled with my weight since I was five years old. Late in 2016- at 28 years old at my heaviest weight- I had my first appointment with a bariatric surgeon in Akron, Ohio where I live and began the steps towards gastric bypass. I was so scared. But I knew that I would rather risk my life than live like this forever. I feared that my parents would bury me in 20 years and that my sister would become an only child. I knew I had to do something. I had tried everything. Between the ages of 8-28 I had tried everything under the sun. I could not lose/maintain the weight loss. On June 26, 2017- I had gastric bypass surgery. I have lost/maintained 180 pound weight loss. I have a whole new life. It is quite beautiful. I look forward to living everyday. I share my journey on Instagram - (my name on there is Maddie5088) and I also have a public Facebook Page called Mornings with Maddie. I created a blog almost a year ago that focuses on sharing my journey, creating/sharing healthy recipes. You can find it here - foodfitnessandbeauty.com I share body positivity, kindness, self love, inclusivity, healthy recipes, grocery hauls, I do monthly giveaways, how to meal prep, affordable/easy meals for bariatric patients and I do Q and As for Bariatric patients. I have felt very called to share my journey with the bariatric community! I hope you come follow along my story! It’s been a heck of a ride! Xoxo Maddie

I was too large to fit on any scale but my surgeons, so I had no way of knowing if I lost weight until my first weigh in, a month after surgery. Spoiler, I lost weight. Ultimately, it all worked out ok for me. Scales lie. Every day if you give them the chance. Scale comes from two greek roots: 'Sca' (Ska) meaning 'crap' and 'Le' (Lie) meaning 'to mislead', so 'misleading crap.' Good luck, Tek

    Low Energy

I’ve been experiencing constant throwing up and gagging even though I have nothing in my stomach for 2-3 days now and I’m not sure if that’s normal or if I should take a visit to the ER I seem to be getting worse as the days go on, instead of progressively better.
