that's the usual fix for it, yes. You don't want to mess around with unmanageable GERD. It could progress into Barrett's esophagus, which in turn could progress into esophageal cancer. Sometimes it can can be managed via meds - but your surgeon may be thinking this is a case for revision. Like the person above said, they can't force you to have surgery, but on the other hand, if you have dangerous GERD, I'd be inclined to at least listen to the surgeon. If you're really doubting it, you could always get a second opinion.

@Donna1966 myfitnesspal has a wonderful recipe converter. I use it all the time both to determine portion size for me and to track protein, calories and carbs. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

    24 hour PH test

Has anyone had to have the 24 hour PH test??? Did it help with approval for revision?

Hey! So I’m 4 years post op with gastric sleeve and I’ve just recently fallen ill... my symptoms are constant and not easing up with any medication. After GP appointments, specialists appointment and even a trip to the emergency department I finally decided to call my surgeon who thinks it may be a hiatal hernia or GERD. He said if it’s the hernia he can repair and if it’s GERD you will need to go ahead with the bypass... is this true?? I’m 163cm tall and 57kgs... I really really realllllly don’t want to get the bypass but I’m feeling so sick daily... has anyone experienced GERD after the sleeve??

    Body Fat

Noticed my Renpho metric post above was from a few weeks ago. Took again this morning below. I’ve always been athletic with good muscle tone so am surprised-but not totally. I loved his video (though he’s SO good looking and charming, that it was challenging to totally concentrate😅). My dilemna is what do I pay attention to and what weight goal do I focus on? I still work out with resistance bands, light weights, floor work a few hours a week, and walk 2 miles most mornings. I’m 66 but feel 35😃, especially after WLS and carrying 50 fewer pounds around!! My surgeon and cardiologist simply focus on BMI. Since surgery I’ve gone off BP and cholesterol meds because numbers are great. I trust your video Doc Reasoning more than simple BMI. Will keep going until?....

    Finding the new me

Hello Azhiker, I can relate to your challenges that can coincide with the mind, body, heart and soul. I am 11 years post op and still my own worst critic. I look in the mirror and see a fat girl. But one thing that has slowly changed has been to become outspoken with my thoughts. I also learned not to feel uncomfortable going into an area in any location and feel eyes watching me. My motto is "Learn to control the things that u can the rest leave it to the divine." It will take time to fully get where you want to be. For beginners, be BOLD and CONFIDENT in anything you do. Hope the advise helps Missy cee Sent from my SM-G960U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

    “Silent” GERD!!!

Have your thyroid checked. A lot of times when it is slightly swollen it will cause you to cough ,or "choke" or have. a hard time swallowing. Even fluids can do this. This happened with both my parents long before the thyroid started to "bulge" out of the neck. It was hypothyroidism. I hope this helps and I pray that this is just a fluke and don't cause you any further issues. Good Luck 🙏

    Hair Loss!

You may not have much control, as simple shock (such as surgery) can cause hair loss. Enjoy the additional micro-ounces you will lose It will probably come back. If not, I'll bet you can rock the bald look! Tek

    DON'T DO IT

Very dramatic story, very detailed, NICE TRY to dupe people. So many details piled up together (grenade-looking drain, colostomy bag, stomach stent, many bags taken out of the taxi on return from hospital - like returning from Caribbean vacation etc etc). BTW there is NO Dr.Kantner as bariatric specialist anywhere in Virginia...hehe...and another 20 or so discrepancies i found in this story.
