For most of the time I’ve been living in slim/skinny/tight leg pants too, ChubRub (though I do love me some wide legged pants). Yesterday, I went for something different - a gathered skirt! Would have avoided a skirt this full before I lost weight (unless it had a wide yoke). Just noticed you can see all the wrinkly skin on my hands in this pxt - never expected to have loose skin there.

Yesterday and today’s outfits. I’ve discovered my new look is tight pants with a flowing top. Accentuate the positive, and hide the jiggly bits. Lol!

    Anyone for September 2020?

So I had the Gastric Bypass yesterday and Tbh my pain has not been too bad. I am on a shake and water diet for 5 hours until I can get sent home and I’m not gonna lie it is kind of hard to get them down within 15mins of each other because you will feel full. Then in between that I have to walk. But I was drugged up after surgery for a quite awhile. But so far not too bad at all! Also I see someone asked about how long for clear liquids. My doctor is making me do two weeks of clear liquids and shakes then my diet will advance.

First time feeling some buyers remorse

I’m nearly 6 months out and cooked (refrigerator prepared) pulled pork from Aldi for hubs last night, along with hush puppies, fries and onion rings in the air fryer (he’s tall & thin). I tried a bite of the pork while cooking to test flavor and it did not sit well. It had great flavor and he loved it but my tastes and desires have changed Big Time. There was no desire what so ever to try the sides I had prepared for him. At 3 months post WLS I was like you, my head and memory wanted to enjoy it and I felt a bit left out watching others. Now? I feel a knot at the back of my throat saying “I no longer like how that makes me feel”. So I live vicariously through his ooohs, ahhhs, yums and crunching, and instead of lusting after his food, I smile, ‘grateful for this gift of a new me’ and the memory is all I need. I’m serious, I no longer feel deprived of sugary fatty foods, I simply do not want them.

Only 2 days on "pureed" diet?

I was two weeks, liquids, two weeks, puréed (sloppy foods - get out the blender) & two weeks soft (mushy with minimal chew - lots of slow cooking) before trying more solid food too. Personally I’d go slowly through these stages & don’t be concerned if you find you have to go back a step. You’ve just had surgery on your digestive system & will be healing for a while. You don’t want to put too much strain or stress on it. Your tummy will soon tell you what it’s ready to tolerate. Good luck.

    Did a bad thing...

I'm always buying things that look good and giving them to my husband. It's my way of living vicariously through him...

    Discouragement

All surgery carries risk but so does being obese. Unfortunately, there’ll always be some negative Nancies out there who are so happy to tell you horror stories. But you didn’t make this decision without doing the research & there are thousands of success stories on this forum. Sure some have experienced complications along the way but goodness knows what they would have faced without the surgery & not losing weight. As others have said, it’s not an easy fix. You have to make changes & take advantage of the tool. If you pay for a gym membership but never go, you’ll never get healthier. Same with wls: you have to work at it every day. It’s a lifestyle change. Best of luck with your surgery. It’s an amazing journey & the benefits are incredible.
