    LOW BMI MGB?

Literally asking for a friend. What are your thoughts on MGB for a lower BMI patient, like someone with max 40-50 lbs to lose?

Doing really well with my protein today, especially since it is my first day with full liquids. I am at 32g so far and plan to try to get a shake in tonight for dinner, which will take me up to 60-ish g. No problems with getting my water. I am always thirsty and just keep sipping. I will probably be close to 80 oz water by the end of the day. I did go for a short 15 minute walk. I can assure I did not set any land speed records with my 23 minute mile pace. Lol. Looking forward to feeling better each day. Meow, I am impressed with you eating chicken and the soup sounds amazing. I can’t wait for purées, next week and then off to mushies. I want some baked tofu when I get to mushies at day 14. @MaybeMeow, this weight stall WILL pass. You are doing the right stuff. Your body just needs to catch up. 😜

A sleeve costs around £12,000 in the UK (approx $15,200) and I'm paying £4000 to have it done in the Czech Republic. It was going to be even cheaper in Turkey at just over £3000 but the aftercare and surgeon in Prague made me feel a lot more reassured.

    Exercise for loose skin

That is really unkind. you've lost weight and gotten healthier. I'm sorry they aren't being more supportive, you have so much to be proud of! be kind to yourself.

True. In the end it's always a question of "how big is the price one has to pay for it". If you can maintain a BMI in the normal range or maybe even in the being-slightly-overweight range rather effortlessly what's the point of trying to white knuckle your way to a BMI of e. g. 21? If we're being honest we're no longer talking about "health" then. We're talking about "vanity". Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with wanting to lose more weight because of a little vanity but be honest and stop hiding behind the word "health" once a normal weight is reached and it doesn't hurt to be aware of the price one might have to pay for it either. For many patients the decision to lose some more "vanity weight" might boil down to "Do I want a life or a diet and an exercise plan?" I'm dropping again the term "best weight possible". For some, that might indeed be that BMI of 20. For others it might be the BMI of 27 or 28 or higher, depending on starting BMI and life circumstances. Usually surgeons and dietitians are more realistic when it comes to goal weight than the patients, e. g. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18201668/

    Stall-B-Gone

Like Chix said, this is the famous 3 week stall. For me, my weight loss slowed drastically but didn't stop during that period. Soon you'll find you lose 5 pounds in a couple days and then a pound a day until you hit another stall around 8 weeks and then another around 3 months lol. It sucks but we have to get used to it, it's part of the process.
