    Buys at Costco

I almost always have a package of their marinated chicken skewers in my fridge because they're a super convenient snack or meal if I need something quick - but then, I don't think I could have tolerated chicken breast for at least the first couple of months after surgery. But once your a ways out, that might be an option.

    Buys at Costco

Premier is typically cheaper in the Costco store than at Costco online. Also, they often has $5 off, so watch for that.

How do you deal? It's so hard..

Don't beat yourself up. Freaking out in some way or another is very normal in the first few weeks. It will get much easier as you move towards eating more normal food. I'm 3 months out now, and my husband and I eat together sometimes, and separately other times. When we eat together, I just eat much smaller portions with more of the protein and vegetables and less of the carbs. Recently I've been able to add in very normal foods that I find tasty - like steak and salads - just in much smaller portions. We even made pizza together this weekend - he just ate 5 times as much as me, and I ate an egg before I ate my slice. 😂 The only thing I still consider completely off-limits is sugar (except for fruit).

    Nervous about post-op energy levels...

you're having major surgery which takes 6 weeks recovery so you won't have much energy anyway. But food wise you will go into ketosis and use your body fat for energy which can make you feel energized.

Yes, I also have this issue. I think a lot of WLS patients go through this. As mentioned by a previous person, I like to take pictures throughout my journey and create side by side with them to prove to myself that I am in fact smaller. This is one of my best suggestions. I also recommend measuring yourself (hips, thighs, arms, waist, ect) to see the difference in measurements. Sometimes when I look at down at my thighs, it seems like they are still the same but when I look in the mirror, I can see they are smaller. I too am very disappointed that I cannot try on clothes in the store at this time. I wanted to buy a few things for my birthday since I have not bought any new clothes since surgery (most of my stuff is too big). However, most places are not accepting returns in my area, so I didn't want to be stuck with something.

I was approved. I was also told that United Health is usually very good about approving. So if it’s minimal gain and your on the low end, I think you’ll be fine. Sorry for the late response!!!
