I had my RNY surgery on the 8th! Everything went smoothly and while I am in some pain, I am recovering! Slowly introducing more variety into my liquid diet here, but everything seems to be going down just fine. My neck hurts a ton -- any advice on handling that?

    June 2020 surgeries

How is everyone feeling that has had the surgery so far? I finally took a poop today (surgery was on the 8th) and I never thought I'd be so happy to tell others about it! 😂😂

    June 2020 surgeries

I’d love to have meat and veggies for pre op, lol. My pre op and post op diet is straight liquids.

    Can anyone help, or....

Happy to report that I'm up 3.5lbs since my 6/3 request for help. The slider foods have been a life saver, literally! I have more energy and a generally positive outlook already! Thank you all so very much!

Guess this is my new hangout forum!

Call me whatever you'd like! One day I might change my name to BoredFitGirl! As for describing my neck pain, it is real stiff feeling and hard to lift. My throat is fine in comparison!

    Looking at old pics

Interesting. I've been pretty down about WLS lately because I never got to a healthy weight (I was close and OK where I was), then gained a bit. I was SUPER not happy with the gain. I just looked at a pic on a calendar my friend made me from a trip I took about 6 months after surgery. And I thought - wow, I looked great in that pic. I went back and looked at my weight around that time - yep, its about where I am now. Sure, there are other pics from that trip where I feel like I look terrible. But that one, I feel like I look good. Right-proportioned. So that makes me feel a bit better.

How to take regular meds Post Op

I have been able to swallow all my meds and nonchewable vitamins/supplements from day after surgery with no problems. I bought a pill crusher before surgery but never needed it. Everyone is different but not everyone have problems swallowing pills postop. Sent from my SM-T580 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hypothyroidism and Gastric Bypass

Has anyone been diagnosed hypothyroidism and had a gastric bypass? I'm 4wks post op and been so tired and lost a lot less weight than expected. Typical hypothyroidism symptoms. I can't get my blood test done for a while due to COVID-19. Just wondered if one of the internal changes after surgery were thyroid hormone production? Thanks
