New clothes during Shelter in Place

If you are only doing video conferences, then use a hair tie or binder clips to cinch up the back of your shirt! Save your $$ to buy even smaller sizes once the quarantine is over!! Also, angle yourself so only your shoulders and head are shown on camera if you feel self-conscious about it. My work is saying we aren't going back until August or September. I'm looking forward to surprising everyone with a new tiny me!!

P.S. There are tons of chaffle recipes on Pinterest (and probably other places, too). People get really creative with them!

I'm scheduled for VGS 5/19/2020. Anyone start to panic approaching their date? What did you do to calm it? Did you back out? Or did you go through with it and regret? Or were you happy you did it? I'm between just ignoring it and calling off my surgery. Every night I get closer, my sleep gets worse. Only thing stopping me from canceling is I've put this off for 2.5 years and I'm out of the 3 year approval window. I've literally rescheduled 3 times already since 2018. Only reason I can do it is COVID messed up the surgery date I had in April. If I back out now, I have to start all over again and I barley qualified the first time around. But I'm seriously wondering if this is the stupidest idea I've ever had and I should just let it go. It's not like I can't drop it. I just pile it back on. Maybe that's OK? I'm thinking, I'll keep the date and if I just can't, I can't. Better to march forward than to back out. I have 10 days. Anyone else freak out like this?

i am a male also and going to try and help you out I did not have a support wife or person but things you should try and do. You need to order a nutra bullet or similar device. Getting those drinks in line are really going to help. Once you master the way to make them they will be a treat for him. Mix them up - I am also a chef = yes you can add ice Protein drink, half a banana - and add the powder vitamins to it = Peanut butter powder and banana powder are great! In other words you are making a Protein smoothie. Now for the liquid phase there is not set time when his body is ready he will move phases. Take it slow! I agree with above - Get a ton of vitamins and focus on protein for the phase one! he has to eat slow and I mean pick and slow = MY KEY ADVICE, TELL HIM TO MAN UP AND GET HIS ASS OUT OF BED ASAP AND MOVE MOVE MOVE AROUND THE HOSPITAL. THE FASTER HE MOVES AND GETS THE AIR OUT THE BETTER HE WILL FEEL. FEEL free to PM or even call me aj

    No bowel movement

So.... weirdest thing ever worked for me. I take a stool softener every night for right now, but what's been helping me is that I've trained my bowels to go at the same time every day. You sit down first thing in the morning or whenever (and use a stool or a squatty potty!! it helps with tearing and hemorrhoids!) and wait for about five minutes. Let gravity do its thing, and only push if you *really* need to. After about a week or so, I've been able to start going fairly regularly because my body expects it.

    Slow losers club

This has been a source of heart ache ever since my gastric bypass surgery on August 14, 2019. Right out of the gate I was losing at a slower rate then average And definitely slower than a lot of the folks here or in other Facebook communities. My starting weight was 285 and this morning I weighed in at 2:18.4 pounds. I am 5’6” and 41 years old. Since the beginning I have met all protein goals and on fluid goals and I have had zero complications from the surgery. All in all I live a pretty normal life considering I had my insides rerouted. Starting in January I added Orangetheory fitness to my regimen which is an hour long HIIT class. I go three times a week and It’s hard. Like very hard. I burn on average about 450 cal per class. My dietitian wants me to be around 1200 cal right now especially since I added the workouts. I have had starches and grains and that makes me nervous because I’m a lifelong dieter but my dietitian has zero concerns about carbs. Obviously she wants me to to be making healthy choices around carbs like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, etc. which I do. When I asked her point blank about carbohydrate goals for the day she said 125 g. I’m just feeling a little defeated this morning. I am almost 6 months out from surgery and was definitely hoping to be below 200 pounds right now and now I’m wondering if I’ll ever get below 200 pounds. I guess I just am looking for support or stories of people have gone through similar rate of loss and have continued and meet their goals. My doctor told me at six months it becomes much more difficult to lose weight. But for me it’s Felt hard since the beginning.I used voice text to write this so I apologize if anything sounds crazy.

THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD

Average expected weight loss post surgery is 2-4lbs per week. I know it FEELS like you are losing slowly, but you are averaging 14lbs/mo and there are 4.33 weeks in a month: you actually at about the 75% percentile which is really really lovely! Not trying to denegrate your perception. Cuz perception is real. But WE control our thoughts which then control our emotions. And my knowing that in reality you AREN'T a slow loser, would allow you to feel and understand the great progress you are making? I shared your angst too...
