    15 year weight loss success

Its been 15 years and 10 months since my surgery and I have lost 196 lbs and kept it off. I have a goal for this year of getting down to 164 lbs from 199 lbs where I'm at now. I was 24 lbs heavier just over 2 months ago. I've been using an app called myfitnesspal.com to lose the weight. It took my a little bit to get the hang of it but now I'm comfortable with it. I pick my foods and it gives my the serving size and calories and deducts the calories from my daily limit. It sets up your plan by diet, starting weight and goal weight. As you lose the weight you change your current weight and it adjusts your allowable daily calories to keep you losing weight. I tried it free for a month and was shocked at how much I had lost so I purchased a one year plan and it wasn't expensive. I have the app on my phone and it is easy to use. I hope that this information is helpful for someone.

    What are you BINGEING????

I used to like Top Chef, but now it makes me kinda sad because they are all out of work or struggling. I’m tired of Food Network, they are too sterile for me. I HATE the Pioneer Woman. My new favorite cooking ‘channel “ is Bon Appétit on YouTube. The most popular “show” on that channel is Gourmet Makes, although everyone in the test kitchen is naturally charming, smart and funny. Check it out if you have time, my son got me watching it. I love the Great British Baking Show on Netflix, although I do miss Mary Berry, Sue and Mel.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the floral dress and halter bodice lines on you. You wear it so well. And, your arms - wow! The mermaid emerald gown is gorgeous on you, too, ms.sss! The neck line is exquisite. Emerald green is the birthstone of May - May birthday by chance? I'm a May 29th baby and that is one of my favorite jewel tones. Once my foundations arrive via mail (did not have time to shop in person for them after PS before lock down). You've inspired me (and, hopefully, others on thread) to play dress up in my closet for outfits acquired for cancelled or postponed meaningful major events this spring. Sadly, they were all hung in garment bags directly without a last fitting from seamstress... that's how quickly everything closed down here March 18th - six weeks ago now. So, I guess it's time for a little fashion show and cheer to lift ours spirits! Thanks for getting the ball rolling... x o ;]

    No bowel movement

Same happened, colace and hot coffee in the morning worked me. I also stopped the protein daily and went to every other day until I was finally unblocked. Which worked right away.

    The Maintenance Thread

Hey @chayarg, its been a while...it IS tough during quarantine when we just sit around at home all day Are you still tracking food and your weight? I had sort of slacked off a bit...I still track, but not as meticulously as I did 2 months ago. And I had basically stopped running for 3 months after PS. And I would sometimes miss a daily weigh in or two. As a result, I gained a few pounds. So I went back to tracking everything, started running again (no more PS open wounds, yay!), stopped eating past 7pm, and made sure I got on the scale every morning. I knew this routine worked for me, so I figured I should get back to it. (ASIDE: Now that I think of it, my slacking sort of coincides with my sabbatical from BP...co-incidence?) Anyhoo, I'm rooting for you to continue your downward trend ❤️ #youCanDoIt

    January 2020 Surgery Folks

Hi guys. Just checking in. I'm down 41 pounds and feeling great! I would like to lose 25 more pounds, but my weight loss has really slowed, only 1/2 pound last week. No complaints, though, I'm really feeling good.

So mad at myself for regain

Remember your why. Why did you want this back in 2014? For me it was not only my physical looks but other things. I couldn’t bend down and tie my shoes without having to breathe in between. Bending down like that cut off my breath. Another thing and this May be TMI, but I couldn’t hardly wipe my butt when I went potty. I remember sitting on the toilet crying because I couldn’t reach. I couldn’t walk or stand more than just a few minutes without my lower back burning and aching. Diabetes and high blood pressure run in my family. These are my whys. So you’ve gained 40 back. Thank God it’s not the 101, right? Start back with the protein shakes, maybe substitute a meal a day for one and when you’re comfortable with that substitute two meals a day with a shake. I lost 26 pounds in 3 months prior to surgery from that alone. When you want a snack in between, have one. But make it something healthy and filling like a banana or cottage cheese. You’ve done this before. You know what to do. All you have to do now is, just do it. Sending you positive vibes and hopes for your success!!! ❤️

So mad at myself for regain

@Debbieduck4 PM me if you want to attend my online support meeting tonight at 6pm CST. We're a great group of committed folks who really motivate each other and help us with accountability and focus. It's hard to go back to basics, but IMHO that's what it takes. Plan, weigh/measure, log EVERYTHING that goes in your mouth for a baseline. Everything. Then look at ways to cut the trash out and emphasize the healthy stuff. Prioritize protein, water, healthy veg, healthy fats. You can do it. Seen too many people succeed in getting back to goal to believe it won't. Hang in there. These are tough days.
