    Quarantine and Drinking

Thank you guys for the support and encouragement! It literally bought tears to my eyes. I’m so happy to have found this site because WLS is not for the faint of heart. I will endeavor to cut out the drinking bc I don’t want to trade one health issue for another. Lily66 I wrote an affirmation on an index card the other day that said “I will be gentle with myself and others” - so your encouragement was the reminder I needed. Unfortunately I tend to be very hard on myself and stress out if I don’t do things perfectly. But perfection is overrated Thanks again guys!

    Food Before and After Photos

Breakfast with one egg omelette this morning with spinach, onion, Swiss cheese and lean ham cubes. Sauté lean low salt ham cubes in just a splash of real maple syrup. Then, I use the cubes for navy bean soup, a chef salad and sunny side eggs for extra flavor. Just a few bites satisfy.

    Quarantine and Drinking

you're what we call a "lightweight", so you're not going to lose nearly as fast as someone who starts out at over 300 lbs. You are doing just fine - at least in the weight loss dept. you're NOT doing fine in the drinking dept - and I"m glad you said you're going to try to cut it out. Like someone else said, my surgeon didn't allow drinking for the first year after surgery - and even now, we're only supposed to drink occasionally - and maybe just a glass of wine or two (or the equivalent) the few times when we DO drink. Alcoholism isn't uncommon among bariatric patients because of transfer addiction, so watch it...

Here was Sunday's dinner last night. Carmine's grocer had some wonderful lollipop lamb chops on sale. And, a fab mint jelly... I say why not milk that favorite Easter dinner for all its worth. Right?! We usually roast a large bag of fresh green beans that will last for a few more meals.

Thanks for this recipe @sillykitty. I used to travel to Minneapolis a lot and miss this soup. Will be making it myself now!

    Low Blood Pressure

I had low blood pressure and would get dizzy when I stood up - my Doctor said my sodium levels were low and I should drink a packet of chicken boulliun (5calories) each day to increase my sodium intake. It has helped and I can tell when I forget because I begin to feel lightheaded :)

1.5 years out & still throwing up?

p.s. I know exactly what you mean about carbs being easier to get down - I've been telling my husband since my surgery. If I eat protein it comes back up... after sitting like a brick in my chest. If I don't eat carbs I'll die from not eating at all! My surgeon wanted me to do a scope a while back but then it seemed to be ok... or maybe I just wasn't thinking about what I was eating. Anyway - I have the EXACT issues you have.
