    Here was Sunday's dinner last night. Carmine's grocer had some wonderful lollipop lamb chops on sale. And, a fab mint jelly... I say why not milk that favorite Easter dinner for all its worth. Right?! We usually roast a large bag of fresh green beans that will last for a few more meals.

    Thank you guys for the support and encouragement! It literally bought tears to my eyes. I’m so happy to have found this site because WLS is not for the faint of heart. I will endeavor to cut out the drinking bc I don’t want to trade one health issue for another. Lily66 I wrote an affirmation on an index card the other day that said “I will be gentle with myself and others” - so your encouragement was the reminder I needed. Unfortunately I tend to be very hard on myself and stress out if I don’t do things perfectly. But perfection is overrated Thanks again guys!

    Oh no! I use to love fresh crispy corny Fritos mixed in my homemade beef chili!!! Oh boy. Those were the days my friend... Even though we make chili with ground turkey in the instant pot now - It remains a little too rich for the tummy. I just eat out the flavored kidney beans which is most satisfying less the Fritos of course, LOL!

    Low Blood Pressure

    I haven't actually fainted, but I come pretty close every time I rise quickly, and often have to stop to steady myself until the spots go away. Like you, I had low blood pressure historically. I'd definitely talk to your doctors, but when I asked mine about it, they weren't awfully concerned. They said to be sure I was getting all my fluids and to try to up my electrolyte/salt intake a bit if possible.

    It may be beneficial for you to see a counsellor as to what is driving you to eat more as well as a bariatric dietician. A lot of why we overeat is due to emotions and if we don't work on this we are doomed to keep making the same mistakes over and over again when it comes to overeating.

    Quarantine and Drinking

    Hey everyone! So as of this morning I reached my first goal to get in the 180’s. I’m super excited but when I did the math it literally took me two weeks to lose 3 lbs. Since surgery I’ve only lost 17bs and I think I may be doing something wrong. To be honest I’ve been drinking red wine in the evenings, like 2 glasses every couple days. I feel guilty but quarantined with my 14 and 10 year old and working from home is getting to me. Would the drinking have that large of an effect? Based on you guys past experience is this average for someone starting with a 38 BMI. Just looking for some encouragement or a swift kick in the butt.
