    I CAN'T FREAKING DECIDE!

Wow, thank you so, so much for replies! They were super helpful and I have actually made up my mind finally, woo hoo! I have decided to go with the bypass due to my bmi and due to issues with my metabolism being slow from my hypothyroidism, but mostly because I feel I can definitely meet my goal weight and stay at that weight successfully with this surgery. I am new on here, so I really appreciate the thoughts and insights!

    I CAN'T FREAKING DECIDE!

actually, a lot of surgeons are now recommending that sleeve patients avoid NSAIDs as well, so that might not be a consideration anymore. I chose RNY because I had GERD, but also, at the time I had surgery, the sleeve was still relatively new, and I wanted something with a lot of research and data behind it. I was afraid the sleeve might end up being Lapband 2. However, the sleeve has been around long enough at this point that it's proven itself. If I had to choose again, I'd still choose RNY because of the GERD issue, but if it weren't for that, I'm not sure which one I'd choose. They're both good surgeries and you'll find many people who've had success with both.

    END OF MY ROPE

I'm sorry you had a rough recovery. I had a mini bypass March 16th and couldn't be happier. Have you discussed your concerns with your surgeon or dr? Weight loss surgery does change your internal body rhythm so you might need to adjust diet and speak with a dietician? Good luck xx

    I CAN'T FREAKING DECIDE!

There are a lot of people on here who post about why ther choice is the gold standard, the best, etc. What I’ve gathered is most people who follow their plans have success and few complications with either surgery. My surgeon recommends the sleeve unless people have GERD. I think I would have been happy with either, and the sleeve was the right choice for me. It’s really a matter of personal preference. If your surgeon isn’t guiding you, you may want a second opinion just to get more information to help you decide.

I'd try some protein for breakfast instead of the cheerios and if you can I would get your bloods done, you may be anemic and need iron. Best of luck, hope you feel better Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app

I feel you... I've been having really bad dizzy spells for a couple weeks and almost blacked out more than once. My doctor gave me a TON of medicine including meclizine and none of it is helping... I've always been slightly hypoglycemic so I'm wondering if mine is caused by low blood sugar levels. I don't have a glucose testing kit to check though... The thing that makes me doubt it being low blood sugar levels for myself though is that usually when my blood sugar is low I shake really bad. Like full on shaking. I'm not shaking at all. I hope they figure out what's going on with you and can help you quickly so that you don't have to keep going through something so scary!

    Bacon....

I guess I am the exception, but I was not told to not eat bacon or sausage; I pretty regularly have 1 turkey sausage link with my breakfast. It only has 4 grams of protein, but 4 grams for 35 calories is a pretty big protein hit. I try for about 15 grams (or more) of protein per meal/snack. You could try a link or 2 of turkey sausage and some cream of wheat with some plain protein powder added to get a higher protein breakfast. By the way, I also make various dishes using Italian style turkey sausages; turkey chili, Cajun style sausage and beans with cauliflower rice, or a tomato and sausage crumble over spaghetti squash with some parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. I am 2 months post sleeve. I have lost 23 pounds since surgery, and 33 pounds including the 3 weeks of pre surgery diet. I am happy with my weight loss, it is not the huge numbers some people have, but I look at an average of 3 pounds a week as a good rate. I have not "cheated" since the surgery, but the rules from my team are pretty loose; hit your protein goals, hit your fluid goals, and then fill in (if you can) with fruits and vegetables.

    Bacon....

I will occasionally have turkey bacon for either breakfast or dinner. (I never liked regular bacon --too fatty). I overcook it slightly so I still get a crunch. It isn't great on Protein so wouldn't work everyday or as a stand alone, but may be an option to rotate.

    Bacon....

My surgery was 2/26. I have eaten sausage and ham a bunch of times. Didn't really think I was cheating. Heck I had a small bowl of sausage and peppers last night. I've lost about 35 so far but I'm a guy so its different.
