You sound exactly like my wife. Are you my wife? When I met my wife I was in decent shape. I had lost about 160lbs over 2 years and kept it off for almost 10. Then one day I hurt myself and gained it all back and have been struggling the last 3 with chronic pain. My wife has been against me having wls. Says I should have been able to lose the weight normally like everyone else. Called me a coward. Said things like you must not love your family if you wont even do it for them. But that's not how it works. Would you tell someone with a drug problem to just man up and quit or would you get them professional help?

Hi surgery twins! Down 26 lbs. and feeling great! Just cleaned out my closet last night, and as I was trying things on, I couldn't believe how large and baggy things were looking on me! I'm down two sizes, so now I'm not trying to hide under my clothes. It's so weird to me! I'm still trying to figure out my routine of food. I start with coffee with protein shake as my creamer and add a scoop of collagen protein. The bat wings on my arms are getting noticeable, but I was expecting that because I'm 49 and I have no illusions about my lack of elasticity. I do a piece of cheese or yogurt for morning snack. A green drink (veggies only) with more protein powder for lunch. Afternoon snack is the rest of my protein shake, then dinner is chicken, fish, meatballs, or a sausage. In between all of that is water. I had some bread a couple of weeks ago, and my stomach got super grumbly. This week, I'm going to switch out the juice on a few days for some salads. I've had a little beer (stout only) and a little wine, but I don't feel I need it like I used to pre-op. I had a small piece of pizza last night for the first time, but only got through a few bites. I used to have pizza every Friday night, but like so many other things, I don't miss it and don't care if I ever have it again. Also super weird to me that I feel that way! I'll admit that I wish I was losing more than 1-2 lbs. a week, but I also haven't been this size in a VERY long time! I keep telling myself that slow and steady wins the race! I'm walking 1.5 miles every day. I belong to a gym, but haven't been in years. That's my next big "add" to my routine. Although, I might quit the gym and start going to yoga. I'm looking for strength/core building, and I like yoga way better than germy machines! I was cold all of the time for the first six weeks, but that seems to be subsiding. Three weeks ago, my face started breaking out with tiny whiteheads, which has never happened before. My energy is good at the beginning of the week, but fades by Friday. Keep on truckin', everyone!

I would ask the medical professionals advise from the team that you are working with.

    Vitamin C question

Honestly, it depends. You should talk to your surgeon or dietitian. They would know best to be able to help you incorporate that back into your life.

    What should I do?

Depending on your surgeon’s schedule, a delay in completing a pre-op requirement may have a huge impact on the scheduling for your surgery. If you’re also juggling a schedule for time off from work for post-op recovery, I would make sure to contact the office immediately if an expected call back does not go as scheduled. If they say to expect a call on Monday, and there is no call, I am on the phone first thing Tuesday morning.

I do still weigh/measure and track at almost five years out because I've learned if I stop doing it for more than a few days, my weight starts heading north. But that's me - you may be different. My dietitian also recommended I stop doing it, but I know myself too well.... also, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but losing nine lbs in a month isn't realistic if you're anywhere near your goal weight (or even within 20 or 30 lbs of it). It would take me three or four months to do that - at minimum - unless I was practically starving myself. Even if I'm being really careful with my food intake and exercising, I can only lose about 0.5 - 1 lb a week... So different from when I was morbidly obese!

only 11 pounds in two weeks

Just chill out the mind games are brutal - It gets better and you are on the way to the greatest feellings you will ever have, I have seen this post a ton of times the last 8 months so you are not alone! I was not trying to be brutally cold but i wanted to make a point. Also i crashed big time also, so i know what you are going thru I was not ready for post Op and had big issues. I did a long post months back on it if you want to read it. My suggestion is do not weigh yourself all the time. After i crashed i went to a bi monthly weigh in. The 1st and the 16th of the month. Then average the two numbers from the previous month and multiply by 12 - This is a Journey not a Sprint. Get healthy is the key, So focus on eating right getting your vitamins and minerals set up, start moving more and the Good things will come. You got this we all have been there!
