No you are fine - Your body is going thru healing and you are holding water - Just stay on the plan and remember this is a journey not a sprint. You are in the toughest times right now and it gets easier and smoother as you go along

I can handle pretty much anything except for high-fat meals (e.g., fish fries - with fried fish & french fries - I'd be in the bathroom vomiting afterward). BUT...just because you can eat them doesn't mean you should. A small amount occasionally is usually fine. But don't let it become a habit. You're most likely still malabsorbing. It won't last forever. I put on weight like crazy now if I don't monitor myself pretty much all the time...

    Three Months now! w/pics

We concentrate so much on weight ! Sometimes it's the inches lost that really shows up in your success! As one our bariatric veterans has once posted. " It's called Weight loss surgery but it should be called Fat loss Surgery" I'm ok with the inches lost ..

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I feel like my pouch is made from steel! I can eat anything literally. It’s been a struggle. I did dump after I ate a salad with full fat dressing. It was the first time and I’m 6 months out.

I purchase a small bag of lupin flour to try making alternative breads etc but haven't worked with it yet Let us know how it taste! Also it looks like most of the protein is from collagen (hydrolyzed beef bone) so if you don't end up liking this particular soup you *could* just potentially add any unflavored collagen protein powder you like to and soup/broth to get the same macros!

Just curious, have any of you done a thru-hike or pilgrimage after bariatric surgery? In particular, has anyone done the Camino de Santiago after bariatric surgery? How was it? How did you handle eating? Did you gain/lose/maintain weight? Insights you can share? I had surgery Sept 4th. I am losing weight at a nice pace. I have just reached a BMI under 30. I am walking 6 miles a day now (still easy walking, but at a brisk pace). I am just beginning to do Yoga/Pilates again (when I can get my daughter to dance in time for me to get to class). And I have just booked a flight to Paris/back from Barcelona... but in between I am planning on doing the Camino de Santiago (French Way) from St Jean Pied de Port! I am super excited. I am planning to up my fitness routine steadily until I leave. I am already buying any gear I don't have and trying to figure out how to keep weight down in my backpack. Buying smaller clothes will sure help that! Hopefully I am a Medium by then if not smaller. Anyhow, any tips on what you did to get you through a thru-hike? This is my first thru-hike. I have always wanted to do one, but I am using this as more motivation to keep going on my weight loss and getting fit. I selected this one because I don't have to carry my tent and all my food for many days at a time, and I SHOULD have an actual bed to sleep in every night. Anyhow, excitied, nervous, and really not sure how I will be handling food by then. I am doing better with hydrating now. I am eating small meals without problems. I have never gotten sick from anything I ate or overeating.

every dietitian I've ever seen (3 of them, I think?) have said Egg McMuffins aren't a bad choice. Egg - cheese - Canadian bacon (a lean ham). Lots of protein, and 300 kcal. If you're doing low carb, just don't eat the top part of the English muffin. Of course, this isn't a great choice if you're early out, but for those of us pretty far out (or in maintenance, like me), you could do a lot worse.
