Day 25 post op I ventured out yesterday for the first time on my own driving to ladies book club, shopping for a gift and a light lunch. Bobby pouted - he's use to having Mom home 24/7 of late. The excursion was 9:00am - 2:30pm. I noted in the department store - I was beginning to fatigue and felt a bit dizzy. So I headed on home. It was great to be out and about on a balmy breezy 86 degree day (not too hot in the compression garments) however, certainly do not have my normal sprint or stamina back yet. When dressing, I did note I looked slimmer in frontal region. For now I just prefer soft cotton and stretchy outfits against my body. Happy Valentines Day!

When can I have toast again?

if you're avoiding bread for carb reasons, then I don't think toasting it is going to make any difference. I didn't eat bread at all during the weight loss phase, since I was following a moderately low carb diet (not ultra low carb like a lot of bariatric patients do). I do eat bread occasionally now that I'm in maintenance - but then thing to keep in mind is that it's not terribly nutritious, and it takes up valuable space in our tiny stomachs. You're usually better off filling the space with protein and nutrient-dense things like vegetables.

    How do you psychologically deal?

All i can add is the Head games are tough!, but you have a choice 1. Stay fat and unhealthy and die early missing out on your kids and the future or Plow thru it deal with the head games and just stay focused - I decided to get healthy and live vs be burnt and put in a Urn Young - so whatever mental issues came at me after my crash i just stayed focused on that goal of getting healthy!

I splurged this week on new underwear, the first since surgery. I was careful to use my measurements to buy them and brought them home and washed them, as I always do before wearing them. I took the panties out and immediately said to myself, no way my big a** will fit these, to my surprise they fit. I did and said the same for the first lacey bra I've had in decades. It fit too. I need to be kinder to myself and not allow my head to talk to me like this. An exciting day and a big victory that I can't share with anyone but my husband, he's thrilled BTW. I suspect it will take some time for the head to catch up with the body. Now if I'm in an accident and rushed to the ER I will be known as the granny in sexy undies, and not granny panties!

    Hunger wth?

I was very hungry in the first 2 weeks after surgery but at about week 4 when I was allowed to go back to the gym my hunger decreased about 90% and since then I have good days and some days that are so so!!!!!!! Overall, this has been a great process for me and I wake up each day with a fight in my eyes that tells me that I never want to go back to the days of overeating and having health issues due to eating whatever I want and whenever I want to.... It is a process and you will find what works for you in this process... So just stay the course and follow the instructions from your healthcare team.... Also, major key for me was you have to want this process to work and fight everyday to make it work for you... Good luck to you and keep us posted...
