    Hurt

I experienced some pain for the first few days. I was given pain meds to help control it though. The pain doesn’t last long and the surgery is well worth it!

    Travel in the USA

Fantastic tip! This coming week I'm going on a day trip down the coast with a friend and we'll be eating out for lunch at a nice restaurant. If they offer that option I'm going to do that!

My family loves to go out to eat, so I've had to develop several strategies that I employ (depending on the restaurant and who I'm with): Offer to share a meal Order an appetizer (this can be troublesome because they can often be fried or covered in cheese) Order a kids meal (most restaurants will allow this, BUT it's also a risk because a lot of restaurants have unhealthy kids meals like chicken nuggets, french fries, mac&cheese) Order a side dish (You can usually find relatively healthy side dishes, they won't be high-protein, but it may be the best alternative depending on type of restaurant) Ask for or bring your own "to go" containers. Lastly, and this was my newest revelation: some restaurants allow people to "add on" protein/meat to an existing meal. EX: my husband ordered a regular meal and we "added on" 4 grilled shrimp. This was PERFECT for me. I had the shrimp and ordered a side of broccoli. Best meal EVER!

Feeling a bit bad about what I ate

Its life one little candy bar is not going to kill you! You must enjoy something sometime! But that does not mean eat the whole dang bag! I hit the little Halloween candy two or three times a week, But in the past i would hit the 4 pound bag of M and M s - That was the issue not the 5 little ones a few times a week. You have to learn to balance and enjoy life, So my feeling is you have sinned and I will bless you and forgive your sins! any other confessions you would like to tell us!

    Gastric sleeve

With liquid diet, then soft foods diet, etc., how did you not lose wt? We're not even allowed bread or beans or fruit with skins or rice until afterc4 mos. The average is to lose 30 lbs in the first 6 wks. Having sugar and eating everytime there's room in your banana stomach will stop wt loss. You need to wat 2-3 hrs between meals. Just starting the process

I have been taking meds for bipolar for a number of years. Took MMPI-2 as part of my psych eval and showed I am totally "normal". Really shocked my psychologist. I will stay on meds though to be sure I stay stable. If you have mental health issues, they just want to be sure that you are: (1) stable on meds and continue under treatment (2) Addressing any eating problems. (3) You have adequate social support (family, friends, church, etc.) I was pretty stressed about psych eval because my history. Don't stress about it. If you have a current therapist, see if your bariatric center will accept psych eval by him/her. Who knows you better? Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
