What to do When You Can't Eat

Pilates and running up large credit card bills buying cute smaller clothes. When you can drink protein drinks and have popsicles, soft food will come soon. Before you know it, you'll probably be able to eat a lot of the things you like, just in different preparations and smaller portions. Your taste for unhealthy food may change too.

Stay the course! There is a misconception that having weight loss surgery is somehow the 'easy' way out. I call BS! My husband initially was not supportive when I broached the topic years ago, but after learning more about the process and the health benefits, he was on board, not because the thought of surgery didn't still trouble him, but because he wanted me to be healthy, and happy. I was diagnosed in 2017 with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and have been in remission for over two years now. Though my oncologist could not tell me exactly how I came to have Lymphoma, there were many possible causal factors, one of which? You guessed it, obesity. I knew I needed to act, and after all we'd been through my hubby was all in to make sure my remission continued. I can only speak for myself when I say that the sleeve surgery was one of the best decisions I have ever made for me, physically and emotionally. I have never been happier. Do whatever it takes to get YOU to healthy and happy.

What to do When You Can't Eat

I live alone so I don't have anything but prepared meals in my fridge. No snacks are available in my home. I have very little control over snacks if they are available. If I want a snack I have to make an effort. I usually don't feel like going out to get snacks. I drink a lot of water and sugar free drinks if I feel genuinely hungry. That usually does it for me. I too am a bored eater. I am trying to address this by starting a hobby.

11 month post op bloat, help!

your system might not be used to all that fiber. It can take awhile to build up a tolerance to it again. I've more-or-less built up a tolerance to it again (I'm 4.5 years out), but I still have occasional days when I overdo it and am miserable!

What to do When You Can't Eat

I am 10 days Post-OP from a sleeve and I have little hunger. I am more thirsty than hungry most days. I do have some head hunger, but nothing like before surgery.

    Question of lower BMI patients

Hiya, I'm 5'2" and started at 235. Reached goal of 127 lbs at 7 months. I'm 114 as of this morning (1 year, 3 months post op) You can see my losses per month in the first year in my signature (or in the "About Me" section in my profile)...

1+ week post plastics update: My flight home made swelling skyrocket ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜…. Luckily I was forewarned this would be an issueโค My legs (thighs) were so puffy for the last 2 days that they rubbed again. So I slept with my legs extremely elevated and took a diuretic and it helped A LOT. I was 164 lbs yesterday and now 156 lbs this morning. Yeah. I cannot find a lymphatic massage therapist in my immediate area so I am going to do it myself with includes me buying the machine from Amazon ๐Ÿ˜. I actually could tell the difference in my swelling, posture and stiffness before and after the massage so I need to do these. I'm super glad I had 3 sessions (really 2: 1 regular and 1 extended) and asked a ton of questions. Also the therapist showed me how everything worked and explained the process thoroughly. I'm still wearing the compression socks along withq abdominal binder all day & night. I am only taking a few breaks between to readjust but sadly I'm far too swollen to even attempt the Faja yet (and I did attempt it ๐Ÿ˜”) All of my pain is still in the abdominal area. Nothing, absolutely nothing from my breast. But can feel sensation on the left more than the right breast (but both nipples seem to be working still โค) I can go with no pain meds or just Tylenol during the day and sometimes, something stronger at night. Doing pretty well ๐Ÿ’š
