Week 5 Post Op Report What a journey! I am 5 weeks from surgery and a total of 24.4 pounds down! I feel amazing! I’ve incorporated a ton of walking and I’m using my Apple Watch to help me along! I have closed all three of my fitness rings for 11 days straight! Ok, so I am in LOVE with my Apple Watch. I've had it for almost a year and I am just now tapping into it's fitness power! I keep on top of my protein, vitamins and biotin! I struggle with water but I average about 50 ounces a day. I have only had one day where I had to “purge” because something did not agree with me. Tuna and my Tiny Tummy still do not agree so I’m going to leave it alone for a while! I walk on average a little more than 3 miles a day for my exercise but manage to get in at least 13,000-17,000 steps a day depending on how my schedule goes. I get up every hour and walk around for at least five minutes. Then if I’m watching a show I get up and walk in place during the commercials! I meet with my doc this week for a progress report. I have one more week before I graduate from soft foods to the final phase! I’ve got my cookbooks ready, my food scale ready and my measuring plates ready! I could NOT be more happy with my progress! I feel amazing and I’m grateful to have this tool! None Scale Victory: My rings on my finger are spinning!

It’s my eight month surgery anniversary. Whoo hoo! It hasn’t been easy but then it could have been much, much more challenging. I’ve had stalls that lasted weeks & weeks. I’ve mysteriously developed some health issues (fingers crossed they don’t become serious) which I didn’t have before. I’ve forgotten what a regular bowel motion is, vomit bile & saliva about once a week (damn morning vitamin) & some days I gurgle like a blocked drain! My energy levels aren’t great & I often feel tired but I’m sooooo glad I made the decision to have the surgery. I feel way better about myself. I look way better than I did. 😜 My feet don’t ache. My hiccups and reflux are not as severe as they used to be (no more sore muscles after a hiccup attack). I don’t breathe heavily walking up a couple of flights of stairs. I’m the smallest in my family not the biggest (though I’m still the shortest - tee hee). There have been unexpected learnings & realisations that resonated. Like realising I am a small person but I ate like I was a large framed 6ft 2. Like realising my nieces & nephews didn’t see me as their fat aunt but just saw me as their Sissy; their favourite & bestest aunt who loved them to pieces. Like I can sip one drink for hours, not eat the cheeses, dips, charcuterie or fries & still have lots of fun when out with my friends.

Status update for myself for the new year. I've been away from this site for a few months now. I have a new job (so I can't log in as often) and I've stopped being obsessed with the weight loss. I haven't weighed myself in 2 months because I know that I'm not losing any weight. My belt is on the same hole and so is my watch. Most of my eating habits are still pretty good but the holidays (sweets) have not been good to me. Fortunately, I don't feel my clothes fitting any tighter, but i know I haven't lost any weight either. I might get up the courage soon to try and get on the scale to see. I do still work out about 3 to 4 times a week when time permits, so I really think I'm in maintenance mode; no gain, but also no loss. I think if I can get over the hump and get all these horribly good treats out of the house I can get the needle moving again. I think i have about 40 lbs until I'm at a weight where I'm satisfied and can officially move into maintenance mode. Until the next update... p.s.-Happy New Year to anyone reading this.
