    Hospital Bag

You don’t need to bring all that. I took a bag and out of the 6 things (if I remember it was a portable charger, face wipes. Adult Coloring book and makers, chapstick, hair brush and an extra pair of underwear) only used one; charger for my prone. Slept most of the time I was at the hospital.

My sleeve surgery was 12/28. My dr protocol is only clear liquids the first week so I wouldn't worry about getting any food in at all. In fact it can be dangerous while your new stomach is healing. Focus on fluids only at this point. Good luck!

    The No Excuses Support Thread

Ok, I'm done. This was meant as a way to help some people stay on their calorie count so they could lose weight. Now we are on the Mediterranean maintenance diet on how fish is better for diabetes. I will end with this: many Asian cultures diets consist almost entirely of rice. Virtually all Asian cultures are fit and trim, but alas, there are also sumo wrestlers who instead eat primarily fish, vegetables, meat and tofu. It's how much you eat, not what, and for those of us on the WLS path, keep that in mind. For the maintenance and after life, that's a completely different issue. bad science makes for bad results when people are trying to gain knowledge. Calories per food were developed for the sole purpose of learning how much energy humans can draw from each different food. It's really pretty simple, and shouldn't be confused just because one food group has other side effects. Calories first, then which calories. Not the other way around, other than to help people maintain a count. over and out.

    Hospital Bag

I would just caution against bringing anything with a heavy scent. I had to share a room, and if my roommate had brought aromatherapy oils or scented lotions I would have cried.

    What if it doesn't work?

I'm at 28 days and have a strong physical hunger drive early in the AM then again in the evenings . I didn't expect that so soon ? Also 8 or 9 days into the 3 wk stall

    December 2019 Sleeves

I finally found success with the fair life chocolate protein drinks. They sell them at Walmart. They taste like chocolate milk and I could get them down. Good luck.

I also received a tummy tuck with lipo suction to my flanks (love handles) on Dec. 11, 2019. I'm doing well. The first week was rough. So much pain! In the past, had four c-sections and by the third day I was off all pain meds. --Not with this surgery! However, I'm very satisfied with the results and feel after losing 80 pounds that this was very needed.

    Lower Body Lift Mexcian Style

Hello world! I am getting ready to schedule my trip from Alaska to Mexico to get a lower body lift. They want close to $40,000 to do this up here, so obviously, that isn't happening. Really looking at Dr. Carmina Cardenas. Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with her and the facility? How long did you end up staying there? Any complications? Thank you in advance.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I was in a dark place after my gastric bypass surgery. My body went into sensory overload and I was bed bound because of its impact on my chronic illness. I want thigh tuck so bad at some point and maybe some other things. I’d definitely have to go to Mexico probably would do BariatricPal Mx hospital. I do worry about those first days after even though I have high pain tolerance it takes its toll body and mind. I am sorry your first days were hellish and hope that each day of recovery gets better (and it will) I’m glad you shared an open honest story since that’s what I look for. And the result is already looking great.

    Pain Question

The compression garment is supposed to be tight, and you neeeeeed to wear it. I stopped wearing mine too soon, and had complications that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. It sounds like yours is much tighter than mine, though - it was like a tight girdle or spanx, but not so intrusive that I couldn’t sleep or that was actually painful. I’d talk to the surgeon’s team about that one. As for the drains, there really is nothing to worry about. It’s a small tugging sensation that lasts a couple of seconds at most, with absolutely no pain.
