    My new way of living

I'm happy to report that I'm down another lb CW 175.4. I've lost a total of 9 lbs the past 3 weeks getting back on track!!!! I'm happy that I am able to lose at 1200 cals. I'm hoping i won't have to lower my cals as I've seen that many ppl don't lose over 800 cals. I workout a lot and I'm pretty young so maybe I'll get away with 1200. Fluctuating Emotions Pre-Op?

Well, I had wildly fluctuating emotions before surgery that were all about being nervous about the surgery, ranging from excited to terrified. I was so nervous on the day of the surgery that I almost called it off just before I was being wheeled into the operating room. I'm guessing that your emotions do have a lot to do with your upcoming surgery, even if you say you are not nervous. You should also be aware that there will be lots of ups and downs after surgery as well. That's where this forum can be really useful, because you'll learn that what you are going through is not unique.

Same here , they even put me under and removed a polyp. My Hematocrit and Hemoglobin took a big hit after surgery . Supprised they didn't test your poop for blood ( Hemocult test ) as that is standard uif you are under 50 yrs old. Best wishes.

Could be they are worried about you being too anemic. My husband had that for while. Doctor simply put it that if you have low iron you either losing it or not making enough. Most common place to lose it is in the intestinal track. Better safe than sorry. Sent from my SM-J337VPP using BariatricPal mobile app

I had my first bad experience today telling someone. I haven’t exactly been keeping it a secret at work since it’s basically impossible with the gossip mill there. The office manager came up to me and asked me if I was having surgery. I told him yes. He then asked what for. So I told him. He replied “is that going to do anything”. I mentally throat punched him and said yes. He chuckled. I mentally kicked him in a not very nice place. I chuckled. Then I was saved by another coworker and escaped him lunacy. Good times. Next person that asks I’m telling I’m having a hernia repaired I swear. LOL

    Cleanliness after surgery

I can reach fine now, but at my highest weight there were definitely a lot of contortions needed for wiping. I ordered a bidet off of Amazon and I absolutely love it. No contortions needed- just pull the lever and a stream of water shoots up and leaves you sparkling clean. I'll never go back to just using TP- using the bidet feels so much more hygienic. And the model that I got has a wand for the front end as well, which is great for when Aunt Flo visits.

They have those plastic wands that you can put T-paper or wipes on the end of. I have seen them in "older people's" catalogs. Maybe get one of those or rig one up (to throw away of course!)
