    Fluctuating Emotions Pre-Op?

Well, I had wildly fluctuating emotions before surgery that were all about being nervous about the surgery, ranging from excited to terrified. I was so nervous on the day of the surgery that I almost called it off just before I was being wheeled into the operating room. I'm guessing that your emotions do have a lot to do with your upcoming surgery, even if you say you are not nervous. You should also be aware that there will be lots of ups and downs after surgery as well. That's where this forum can be really useful, because you'll learn that what you are going through is not unique.

    astronomical lab bill

I don't know if this will help... but I'm having my 6 mo labs drawn at my PCP office along with some tests she wants... I haven't been given any indication that they won't be covered. At least I'll have my FSA money in case it's not. I'm sorry you're going through this. It might be worth calling and appealing. A lot of times you'll get a lower price just for speaking up. It couldn't hurt. Good luck.

I haven't vomited from being sick, but I recently vomited from drinking too much. lol. Nothing came up but foam. Mostly dry-heaving. I've definitely puked from dumping before - also... foam/mucus. SOMETIMES very small pieces of food.... but nothing stays in the pouch long enough and there's not really any stomach acid. Dry-heaving is almost worse than puking up food, imo. ;(

How do I cut the candy?

OMG! Wow, thank you so much. I have never known about oral fixation, but it makes so much sense, and it explains so much, so much. Here are some examples I keep a cherry stone in my mouth for hours, playing with it. When I cut of tags of new clothes, I'll put the plastic thing in my mouth and play with it for a long time I chew on headphones cables I put everything in my mouth. I don't suck on candy, chew it. I chew soft candy, hard candy. There has to be something going on other than sucking. (it sounds so pervy lol) I most definitely need to find other solutions to this But just knowing there is a name for it, that it actually is something.

    Cleanliness after surgery

I can reach fine now, but at my highest weight there were definitely a lot of contortions needed for wiping. I ordered a bidet off of Amazon and I absolutely love it. No contortions needed- just pull the lever and a stream of water shoots up and leaves you sparkling clean. I'll never go back to just using TP- using the bidet feels so much more hygienic. And the model that I got has a wand for the front end as well, which is great for when Aunt Flo visits.

    Cleanliness after surgery

They have those plastic wands that you can put T-paper or wipes on the end of. I have seen them in "older people's" catalogs. Maybe get one of those or rig one up (to throw away of course!)
