    ❄DEC 2019 CHALLENGE❄

Catching up. 5. Let's see, I did guided meditations Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I also did yoga on all of those dates. 6. Have not visited a cafe but did go to a diner on Saturday. 7. Well, today is nice so I have had the window open while driving today. But it was way too cold and wet to do it on the 7th. 8. Pass on writing myself a love letter. 9. I like my current morning routine so I have no plans to create a new one at this time. My morning routine starts with waking up, starting breakfast, showering and getting dressed, eating my breakfast, and then going to the gym. 10. Umm, bath would be a weekend activity when more time is available. Not going to promise to do that right now. I will be doing yoga tonight. B-side questions: I've been struggling with water intake and started drinking more tea and soup to help. It's hard to drink cold liquids when I'm cold. However, I have been doing better lately. I like a lot about myself and I'm not sure which one thing I would choose.

Hi , I was coverted at my goal weight to fix GERD. So far it has been resolved from conversion from VSG to RNY. You *can* maintain if you work at it. But above all resolving the medical issues in play was invaluable. Speak with your surgeon to come up with a plan! Good Luck 💚

Can't believe it's 5 weeks today. Down 29 since surgery, 4.2 in BMI, and 6.5% body fat, at least according too my scale..... I wish I had more energy, but that should come pretty soon. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Am I losing my mind...

Treading lightly here because I don't know where you stand culturally\religiously BUT If I'm being honest the things I highlighted leap out to me as very controlling. Now that control is being lost you may begin to see a whole host of issues arise- none of which are your fault or can be fixed by you. My advice is to carefully and calmly watch while continuing on your path of health and happiness. The rest will end up as it should. Good Luck 💚

    Count down...

I'm so happy that I found this place.....wahoo. I am 10 day to my revision From lab band to sips. So here's my story an I'm stickin to it lol. In 2005 I got my LB. My HW ever was 340 SW 270 LW 215 My CW 232 Because I've been on my per-OP for a week. Last week was 247.8 My first yr out I got to 215 My band was awesome.I had hit the sweet spot an life was amazing. Then in 2017 I got rear ended at a stop light an it broke my neck in 5 places an my back in two. Plus it tweaked my LB. I had to have it emptied. Never found my sweet spot again. [emoji26] My weight has bounced all over the place for the last 14 yrs. So I started doing research an decided I needed something with malabsorption. Cuz I really cant eat that much for the pass 8 yrs I have been at 236ish. I am very grateful for my LB. It has helped me to never see 340 again. But alas I must move on an get rid of the last 100lbs. Also, please make your surgeon and RD clarify what they mean by "ounces." This was one of the MOST confusing things to me and it aggravated me no end! I don't honestly even know if THEY understand the confusion they cause! VOLUME is king in our world. Most often, when docs and RDs refer to "ounces" in the very early days post surgery, they are talking BY VOLUME and FLUID measurement. That means roughly we should aim for these volumes. People will swing either 1 step up or down on the time scale for volume. In early days when real estate is totally at a premium, we concentrate and fill that volume with protein first. As we mature, we can handle other things in addition to meeting our protein goals. When dealing with dense, solid PROTEIN in the progressing phases, it's important to go by weight, but it still needs to fit within the VOLUME limit for the meal. And this is where it gets tricky cuz 1oz BY VOLUME does NOT equal 1 oz by weight. That's why I still weigh my protein into a measuring cup first so that I know I get my protein needs met and don't exceed my 1 cup per meal volume prescription for my forever diet: BY VOLUME: 1-2 weeks post op: 1 oz by volume = 2 tbsp of food = 1/8 cup by volume = 1 medicine cup of volume 2 oz by volume = 4 tbsp of food = 1/4 cup by volume 3-4 weeks post op: 3 oz by volume = 6 tbsp of food = approx 1/3 cup by volume 4 oz by volume = 8 tbsp of food = 1/2 cup by volume 5-8 weeks post op: 5 oz by volume = 10 tbsp of food = approx 2/3 cup by volume 9-12 weeks post op: 6 oz by volume = 12 tbsp of food = 3/4 cup by volume 13 weeks to forever post op: 7 oz by volume = 14 tbsp of food = approx 7/8 cup by volume 8 oz by volume = 16 tbsp of food = 1 cup by volume BY WEIGHT: 1 oz by WEIGHT = 28.35g by WEIGHT METRIC = 1/4 cup by volume (approx) = approx 7g of protein by macro/cooked 2 oz by WEIGHT = 57g by WEIGHT METRIC = 1/2 cup by volume (approx) = approx 14g of protein by macro/cooked 3 oz by WEIGHT = 85g by WEIGHT METRIC = 3/4 cup by volume (approx) = approx 21g of protein by macro/cooked 4 oz by WEIGHT = 113g by WEIGHT METRIC = 1 cup by volume (approx) = approx 28g of protein by macro/cooked 1 oz by WEIGHT = 28.35g by WEIGHT METRIC = 1/8 cup by volume (approx) for veggies cooked al dente 2 oz by WEIGHT = 57g by WEIGHT METRIC = 1/4 cup by volume (approx) for veggies cooked al dente

    friends?

No you are not overthinking. When I was banded in 2009 (unbanded in 2012) That's all I heard from people. Christmas Party...Oh you are not going to be able to eat....Office Birthday...Oh you can't have a cupcake... They said it like I was on punishment or something! LOL And to be very very honest. I lost a LOT of so-called friends. Your circles will change because your life will change and sometimes that means some people have to go.

My dad arrives from India today so I have to make something his 90-year body (and teeth) can enjoy, AND tomorrow is soft foods day for us! yay! We were told to eat meats that were out of a crockpot or pressure cooker so they were soft. So here goes. This is massively modified from Anupy Singla's Indian Crockpot book a) not make enough to feed the entire state of Texas and not to blow the roof off your head with her version of spice. I'm Indian. Believe me when I tell you, this is the BEST chicken curry I have ever had and the EASIEST. Ingredients 1 onion peeled & quartered 5 garlic cloves peeled 2 inches ginger root sliced roughly 2 tomatoes quartered I tsp salt 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper 2 tsp turmeric 1 tsp garam masala, can buy ready mixed or I will post my fav, easy recipe shortly 1/2 cup greek yogurt 1.5 lbs of chicken, skinned 1 bag of baby spinach 1 2 inch piece cinnamon 4 green cardamom 2 whole clove Method 1. In a food processor, grind together everything except the chicken and the spinach and the whole spics. Make a nice, smooth paste. This may take a few minutes, be patient. 2. Put the chicken pieces in a crockpot, and pour over the yummy-smelling sauce you just made. Add the whole spices, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. 3. Chop up the spinach and add during the last hour of cooking. 4. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 6. Us Sleevers may have to eat the chicken without the sauce and eat the sauce separately or something. Makes 6 servings of chicken (3 oz each, 21 gms of Protein each EDIT: Forgot the tomatoes in the first version and also the whole spices! brain is mush
