Hi! I had my VSG on June 19th of this year. I am a 20 year old male. I am 5'9.5" and was 440 lbs at the time of surgery. I currently weigh 353, and am super happy about it. I just wanted to check in about the rate at which I'm losing. It isn't always consistent, as I'll lose a pound or so a day for a little while, then hold constant for a a little while. On Saturday the 5th of October I was 364.4, then I went down to 361.8, and stayed there until the 14th (I'm in college so I was partaking in some not-so-good-for-weight-loss habits that week, but realized it was impeding me and fixed them). Then from the 14th to the 21st I went from 361.8 to 353.6 at a consistent rate, and then I have been snacking too often over the past week due to midterm stress, although I am almost completely back on track. I am super happy with my progress, but I am just wondering if this is still a healthy amount and rate of loss. It may be too much too quickly, or too little. I'm not sure, and I just thought I'd ask here as it can sometimes be a bit difficult contacting the hospital. Thanks so much for any help!

    Is this too much food?

HI folks, last night for dinner I had planned to eat 1/4 of an avocado and 2 oz of turkey meat with a little mayo. I guess I wasn't paying attention I ate 1/2 the avocado. It seemed to go down easy. I didn't have any problems at all. Is that too much food? should I be able to eat all of that this soon? . I'm a little over 3 weeks out?

    One week to go

My surgery is next Monday, 10/28. I'm on the two week pre-op diet, 9 lbs down. It's not easy, sometimes you get tired, and when you are surrounded by food, it can be very difficult. Only twice was a really "surrounded" by it. At home, when my husband and son eat, it's not bad. Getting excited but also nervous and scared. It's been a long time coming (I thought about it for years, was about to start the process in early 2018, but another health issue was taken care of first). Once the process started, though, while it seemed to drag, it's also been rather quick. Having all the feels....

    Panni vs tuck

I am on the fence about which one of these i should do. i hear the tuck is a better solution, but the panni is covered by insurance. I had once consult already about the tuck, and another on mon for the panni.. any experienced post surgery folks out there have any ideas.., maybe had one and wish they had the other?
