    Pre-op essentials purchases

I am 8 days out of pre-op and below is my experience Things I bought pre-op or immediately after that I use frequently Wedge pillow for when you get home. I ordered the day I got home because I couldn't sleep flat anymore sugar free popsicles benefiber biotene mouth spray, used that in the hospital and for a few days out, saved me. carmex lip balm 5 oz anchor measuring cup water bottle with measurements on it. Torini sugar free syrups...for decaf coffee ice cube tray - for freezing broth popsicle trays - for making your own as store bought have more carbs and calories than you realize store bought bone broths for in a pinch. Not chicken stock, Bone Broth Blender - I had this but I use this 2 x a day for the protein shakes Make sure you have extra protein like genepro to blend in to help you meet your protein goals Silly, but a basket, notepad, designated for all of your post up meds plenty of loose flowey dresses beach coverups - lucky i had a bunch but you won't want to wear a lot of clothes Loose panties subscription to myfitness pal or a good old notebook to document your liquids and proteins and everything I hate water so I need water enhancers, I used publix brand or great value brand orange soy milk - i discovered the lactose doesn't agree with me so I had to buy soy milk get your mani/pedi before because you will be wearing flip flops and not feel like bending over for sneakers Things I bought that I didn't use. I bought a kitchen scale then realized my program does not want me to use a food scale, only measuring cups 100 1.5 oz medicine cups - never used them..I thought I would track my fluid intake this way...ummm..no.. almond creamer, just don't like it Miralax..didn't need it, the colace and benefiber helps me "go"

    October 2019 surgery peeps?

My op is today, I need to be at the hospital at 11. I'm feeling very nervous and tense. I can't help but have doubts the surgery will even work for me, after decades of failed diets it seems to good to be true. But I've seen it work for friends and family, so I'm hopeful.

I know several women in our county who have had the Gastric Sleeve surgery and who they used. I was just about set to go to their Dr but after having a background check done on a few, Dr Lopez Corvala was the only one who sounded solid. Dr Corvala only does 2 procedures a day and with a dedicated team where at least 1 is with you at every turn and on the premises all night if needed. We were picked up and returned at the airport in SanDiego by driver Rafeal . He was a charismatic tour guide with a medical pass that helps immensely when trying to reenter the Us. When first arriving at the Hospital Angeles the patient coordinator hand delivers you to all testing areas and escorts you to your room. She gave lots of insight into the whole thing. The nurses shifts and things run pretty much like the Us. They were so darling and professional but I got attached to a nurse Maria who took care of me quite a bit. All of the people we had contact with were very traditional and polite. While a few nurses didn't speak English just using goggle translator helped immensely. I think it was even kind of fun. Of course growing up in Arizona I did know lots of spanish but not so much the medical words. They run an incredible operation and I would trust them with a loved ones life. Hope this helps someone who may be just looking into who to use in Mexico Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Down from HW 303 to CW 264

I'm grateful for this tool but it has turned me off from food altogether. I think all the changes has lead by body to boycott me. I want nothing when I eat I feel instant nausea. I decided to work on hydration. So at nearly 6 weeks post-op I'm still on shakes and crystal light. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

I can most certainly relate! Food doesn't interest me as much as it did and I'm thankful for that. I've adopted good habits and I know its only up from here ... or shall I say "down" lol

    October 2019 surgery peeps?

My Surgery was yesterday 10/7 with Hernia repair. I was miserable when i first got to my hotel but after a few hours things were all under control, walk walk walk, sip sip sip, have caught myself a couple of times with a mouth full of water (like ummmmm NOPE). Clear liquids continue for today then transition to full. Anyhow doing well, and I broke the surgery center record for stomach size, when i get that pic i might share, cause it was impressive. Now to continue to work on my head, make sure i get full benefits all around, Good luck all, stay the course, do what your supposed to prep wise, and post.
