I too am 3 years post sleeve. About 2 weeks now I have had upper left side pain. Belching and heartburn. just started with doctor yesterday. Doing blood work and ultrasound. I’m afraid it’s my tiny stomach. Trying to eat slower, etc. I have gotten lax on the diet.

I had RNY on Feb 5, 2019. My hair loss started mid May and ended about mid July. I already had thin, fine hair to begin with so the loss was very noticeable (to me at least). Now here I am in October, 80 pounds down, and my hair is growing back! The pictures are of my bangs because it’s so noticeable there, but I have inch long hair all over my head. It makes my cowlick more obvious so I’ve been wearing a lot of ponytails to try to control it. My hair looks pretty awful with the little hairs standing straight up all over, but I’m thrilled it’s growing!

    Post op traveling

My surgery is scheduled for October 10th. My husband is set to deploy to Afghanistan on October 21st from Williamsburg VA and we lived in Pennsylvania. My daughter and I were supposed to go down to see him one last time and Flying isn’t an option, so I’m wondering if anyone made a long drive post op? It’s a 6 hour drive. If I wear compression socks, stop once every hour to get out of the car and walk and rotate my ankles and roll my feet as we drive, I’m hoping blood clots won’t be an issue. Again, I’m just wondering if anyone else traveled a far distance post op and if so, what was your experience.

    Insurance recommendations...

Thank you so much. I am just hoping that I won’t have to go through all the nutritional counseling/classes again and the psychiatrist eval. You’re giving me hope ☺️

I agree that some honest confrontation may be necessary for them to see how they are hurting you and the relationship. You need to take care of YOU now! You are worth it, you are precious and you are valuable in God's sight, even if you don't measure up to the family. I would encourage you to seek out some other social contacts that are healthy and supportive. Find some new friends, join a support group, join a Bible study or small group at another church. Start setting limits on how much damage you allow your family to inflict - that probably means limiting time around them. That will be hard with holidays coming, but let them know if they start in on you, you will leave. I have friends with dysfunctional families who actually moved across town to minimize contact. They are also considering a move to another part of the state, because they want to be their own family without the others butting into every situation. That is something to consider. Glad you and hubby are working things out and I sure hope your new confidence will carry the day!!!!!

Took some progress photos this am and realized that between today's photos and my "starting" photo I've lost 50 lbs exactly! I say "starting" photo because I've actually lost about 70 lbs overall but don't have a pic of myself in my undies at my highest weight. So here I am on January first weighing in at 207 lbs (after already losing 20 lbs), and here I am today, July 8th, at 157 lbs. I had sleeve surgery on March 22nd and have lost 39 lbs since my surgery day weigh-in. Without makeup or my hair done or striking a pose these aren't the most flattering pics but I love them as a straightforward comparison so I'm taking the plunge and sharing them here. No matter what, I'm feeling amazing! Strange how sometimes I look at myself and don't think I look different at all, and other days I barely recognize myself! This is my reminder to you all... TAKE PROGRESS PICS!!!! I know it can be hard to look at a straight on photo of yourself in your underwear, especially at your highest weight, but I promise they will be priceless tools for you to measure your success as time goes on! I only wish I had a pic of myself at my highest to compare to, so I could really see how far I've come!
