    Hello!!

Hi!! Im new here 🤗 (but have been lurking for months 😂😂) I started my journey for WLS in March of this year, Im looking to have VSG, my insurance has a 6 month period before approval.. Ive also struggled with weight all my life.. Ive been working out with a Personal Trainer since 2012 and I will admit tht my dedication has been more geared towards the workout vs. diet. I have tried Atkins lost 50 lbs and gained it back plus some, Keto, diet pills, calorie counting.. and still have yet to break 300 lbs (except for whn i did atkins).. I am so happy to have found this App because I love to hear the success stories as well as the bad stories (evn tho they scare me 😳).. I have 1 thing left to check off and then I guess ill be waiting for the approval from my insurance and thn on to surgery... On one hand im like no dont do and thn the other im like you have done all of the test and been to so many appts just do it lol.. Hopefully ill b on the Losers Bench soon!!

I am still waiting to have surgery but something that has helped me is "miracle oil" by Earthly body. It's been life changing I do not have any wrinkles and skin is supple and I'm 48 years old. Click here

I’m on day 3 of my liquid diet and I’ve been having diarrhea. I’m on all clear liquids. Shakes 4x a day. Anyone else experience this?

HI KohakuSeuda, There’s actually a warning statement on the bottom of my pre-op diet sheet that says dizziness is common during the diet . Because the shakes are so low in sugar, it’s just enough to keep us above hypoglycemia. I’m on Day 2 of full liquids. Last week I had a meal and 2 shakes. Now, 5 shakes plus water like you. I will say from my memory when I had my lap band, day 3 is the worst. For many it gets a little better. Since sugar free jello is considered a clear 0 cal liquid, I’ve added those as well, just to feel the little bit of weight in my tummy. It seems to help with the hunger. Best of luck!

    Osteopenia! Really????

What would be your suggestion for those of us with normal labs? Should we get a DEXA scan yearly? Start that at a certain age? This scares me and I would rather be proactive. Thanks

    Osteopenia! Really????

Well my DEXA WAS ABNORMAL long before WLS and I do have Osteopenia, not yet to Osteoporosis. I'm weighing in to confess this. Since I still have drinking more than 3 ounces of fluid when It came time for my yearly I call it : "my topping of the tank", no pill form, no shot either, due a bypass et all, I had an INFUSION of the appropriate medication in March and my PCP says that will be my mode yearly. My Mama, rest her soul, had full- blown osteoporosis, lost over 5 inches of height, had increased fracturing of bones due to it and even lost her remaining teeth, strange? Her Dental Surgeon and PCP concurred on that one. See why that's a bullet I'm trying mightly to dodge, although it is doubly bad because Daddy also was diagnosed with IT- Until HE got his diagnosis, had vertebrael fractures, I ALWAYS BELIEVED men might be immune, but he lost 3 inches of height, there's a were in my late youth , I was 5ft11, and both my parents were 5ft7, when we went walking into our church, it looked like an Hereford beef cow and her parents-- the Shetland ponies . Surely were people that thought I was adopted from some other family except facially I looked just like Mama! I did lose a little under 4 inches of height between menopause and WLSurgery Time but my bone/ spine specialists attributed it more to my disks saying " No Mas" ( yeah THEY COULD Speak Spanish!) than the "osteo" FAMILY. And Thanks be, my height has now stablized at 5ft8in, not as Impressive but with my weight loss of 1/2 my former self ( 365+ Down to My Current 180) I think I'm looking Pretty Doggone Fine. If people don't think so and say Something, I Shall pretend Deafness, at 73 I Can Play the "Age" Card just like Jonnie Cochran played the "Race" card for old O.J.! Cause there won't be anyone trying to ☔rain on my WL Parade if I have anything to Say!
