    Cravings? HELP

You'll find that you won't be able to eat some of these things now, even though you crave them, your body will reject them. If you can't handle taking only a bite or two, then steer away from them because it could lead you down that slippery slope.

    Cravings? HELP

You have chosen a new, healthy life. You need to embrace the healthy, good foods you can eat. Enjoy them, love them! Look at the old foods as enemies, not friends. Remember where they got you. You will have a burger again, just not now (and probably not with the bun.) You will have a piece of pizza again - just not now. Give up the sugar for good. No more cake or ice cream. It's just not worth it. Period. 5 minutes of pleasure and then hours of discomfort and guilt. Just not worth it. This is hard work. It's called CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and you have to start building new thought patterns and neuro pathways to re-wire your brain into finding pleasure in the healthy, wonderful foods instead of the foods that have nearly destroyed your life.

    Osteopenia! Really????

What would be your suggestion for those of us with normal labs? Should we get a DEXA scan yearly? Start that at a certain age? This scares me and I would rather be proactive. Thanks

    Osteopenia! Really????

Well my DEXA WAS ABNORMAL long before WLS and I do have Osteopenia, not yet to Osteoporosis. I'm weighing in to confess this. Since I still have drinking more than 3 ounces of fluid when It came time for my yearly I call it : "my topping of the tank", no pill form, no shot either, due a bypass et all, I had an INFUSION of the appropriate medication in March and my PCP says that will be my mode yearly. My Mama, rest her soul, had full- blown osteoporosis, lost over 5 inches of height, had increased fracturing of bones due to it and even lost her remaining teeth, strange? Her Dental Surgeon and PCP concurred on that one. See why that's a bullet I'm trying mightly to dodge, although it is doubly bad because Daddy also was diagnosed with IT- Until HE got his diagnosis, had vertebrael fractures, I ALWAYS BELIEVED men might be immune, but he lost 3 inches of height, there's a were in my late youth , I was 5ft11, and both my parents were 5ft7, when we went walking into our church, it looked like an Hereford beef cow and her parents-- the Shetland ponies . Surely were people that thought I was adopted from some other family except facially I looked just like Mama! I did lose a little under 4 inches of height between menopause and WLSurgery Time but my bone/ spine specialists attributed it more to my disks saying " No Mas" ( yeah THEY COULD Speak Spanish!) than the "osteo" FAMILY. And Thanks be, my height has now stablized at 5ft8in, not as Impressive but with my weight loss of 1/2 my former self ( 365+ Down to My Current 180) I think I'm looking Pretty Doggone Fine. If people don't think so and say Something, I Shall pretend Deafness, at 73 I Can Play the "Age" Card just like Jonnie Cochran played the "Race" card for old O.J.! Cause there won't be anyone trying to ☔rain on my WL Parade if I have anything to Say!

What a Difference a Poop Makes!

Pooping makes the world go around! The world go around! The world go around! Many think this song should be about money, but nah...I think it's all about the (Mr. Hanky). Good Lord! So I've been through MOM 60ml x 3 days, Mag Citrate 400mg Pills Daily, Mag Citrate Liquid (1/3 bottle--oh the humanity! Never again!), Smooth Move Tea, and Miralax x 2 days, psyllium 12g x 3 days, chia seed pudding (standing by), and daily Colace 250mg pills...and finally. Finally! FINALLY! The earth moved. I would like to thank the academy. I feel such a sense of relief. I was seriously bloated, uncomfy, was 4 lbs up on the scale, and generally in a pissy mood yesterday. I was miserable. Now, this morning...I feel light as a feather and so relieved. No more pain, distended tummy, nuttin honey. Life is good again. Nowwwww....wax eloquently and profusely about how much better you feel when the trains are rolling down the track on schedule!!! Ok, go!

What a Difference a Poop Makes!

Well Fluffy I do agree because I still fight this battle. Instead of the. Old Classic "What a Difference A Day Makes", I hereby n9minate for the Fecal HitParade---" What a Difference a Poop Makes". I worked for eons in Long Term Health Care, ridiculed my clients ( behind their backs of course) about their obsession. Well Dayum, they KNEW what they were talking about, even the gentleman who stood up in the middle of the Dining Room to announce " I TOOK A DUMP TODAY!", one of my funniest moments because I was one table away helping someone else with their meal.
