I don’t think you can predict where you gain or lose weight. We all have different body types. My Surgeon said a 5 to 20-pound bounce after goal may happen. I had a gain my third year. I could have stayed at a higher weight; I decided to work it back down. A ten-pound gain goes to my mid-section but I can still wear the same size clothing.

    Surgery postponed

Was supposed to have my surgery 3 days from now on Monday 8/12/19. Found out this morning that my TSH thyroid levels are 4.5 so my insurance is asking for additional info & follow up from my PCP. At 1st I was upset but now I feel a little relieved. My pre-op hasn’t been going as restrictive as I’d like & I can do better. Might as well be as healthy going into this as possible. Rescheduled 1 week for 8/19/19

    Is this normal?

Depends on what you're consuming, I think. Even though a food is pureed, doesn't mean you can tolerate it. Highly acidic foods and spicy foods were a big issue for me. I did best with pureed veggies that were starchy like butternut squash and sweet potatoes. I bought a nutri ninja and did all my own purees, I didn't trust the pre-made ones you can buy. Also, it seems like you're doing capsules too soon. They will not absorb as well this early in your recovery based on what my surgeon told me. The chewables are necessary for proper absorption for the first few months. They're big, but take them one at a time and chew them up well. Hope it gets better for you.

    Is this normal?

the first few weeks can be rough, but you'll get through it and then be really glad you did this!! re: food dreams - I still have smoking dreams even though I quit smoking 25 years ago. I think some addictions just become such a big part of your self-identit that they stick with you in some aspect even years after you've kicked them to the curb

    Dark chocolate almonds?

Be very careful. Look how many craptastic carbs of sugar are in the prepared chocolate covered almonds. They are easy to make. Simply toss almonds with a little beaten egg white and strain them lightly, then dust with cocoa and bake in a 300 degree oven until toasty and dry. You can add a bit of powdered sweetener (calorie free) like Swerve, or Truvia, OR add a few drops of flavored liquid stevia to your egg whites before adding the almonds. So much better for you. But the cals still add up very quickly with snack nuts. Hard to control quantity or eating events. Easy to just graze graze graze = stall stall stall.

Thanks for those ideas! The only thing I have not done? Move again. I am working on this daily by eating foods with a low ph. I truly will continue to fight for obesity to be seen as a real diseases. We don't blame drug addicts for be addicts in the same way. I will get my surgery. I just want to help others do the same.
