    Cravings Are Killing Me

Head hunger sucks. Drink water when a craving hits. Avoid commercials. I would mute TV and close my eyes. I broke up with Food TV. I also used to get up and walk during commercials. Lots o' walking going down. It gets better with time. Hang in there and follow your doc's plan!! You can do this.

    Cravings Are Killing Me

This is going to be a lifetime commitment to healthy foods, not just the few weeks until you can have solid food again. You have to get through the head hunger and focus on what you're eating. Stick with protein.

    Cravings Are Killing Me

I agree with @MsCallieigh, I also had surgery on 7/23 and am only allowed, protein shakes, broth and water. Its hard! Everyday i wake up to the smell of bacon, eggs and biscuits... my husband has to eat.. I'm just happy i don't need to cook it. I too just drink a protein drink or water and keep busy.. it's really hard but we can do this.

    Bypass or Sleeve

I agree- see someone else. I had GERD and Barrett's esophagitis with a Barrett's polyp. My surgeon did not even give a 2nd thought to doing gastric bypass because of the history. He told me that anyone with bad GERD before surgery could have it worse after a sleeve, and in those cases, bypass is the better option. My GERD is gone now. If you have GERD now, you may end up with a revision to bypass down the road, and IMHO, why not just get the bypass now and be done with it.

    Weight loss post surgery

Hi all I had my surgery Wednesday now it’s Sunday. When I got home from the hospital I weighed 5 lbs more than I was pre surgery. Several days later Still few lbs more than pre op. This is extremely discouraging! Is this normal ?

    Cravings Are Killing Me

One of my favorite purees (at least allowed on my plan) was ricotta bake (google eggface ricotta bake). I could eat it on puree, but it tasted and felt like real food. i added pureed spinach to mine and it was delicious. I still eat this all the time 9 months out Also, for your veggie fix, I loved pureed spinach and pureed sweet potatoes.

    Fight, fight, fight and fight

Keep fighting! I had the same GERD/hernia issues since I was sleeved 5 years ago. Just had revision on 7/23 and have not had one second of heartburn/reflux. Make sure your surgeon does endoscopy. Meeting with nutritionist & behavioral will speed the process along too. I saw both of them before even scheduling surgery and I didn’t need to go through any of the classes again. Best of luck!!! We are rooting for you!!!

    Partial DS

Hi! Wait a couple of weeks and see what your progress is like. The if surgeon performed the malabsorption part of the surgery, you will lose weight, how much is the variable so you may just have to work a little harder but you still have a tool to assist you πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ The things you may have to concentrate on now is portion control and dietary/lifestyle changes. Many people (after the very intial stages) STILL have to focus on this anyway. ☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝ You didn't lose much of an advantage. You may have gained the advantage of skipping all the ill effects of changing the stomach size ( nausea, vomiting, tightness, etc.) And advance straight into a more veteran style (years out when the restriction is relaxed to the point of nearly normal portions) πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† Make sure the nutritionist/dieticians you see craft and tailor a plan just for you. Please let us know how everything goes as this will help others p.s. I can still drink at a normal rate like prior to both of my surgeries, so youre not alone πŸ’—CONGRATULATIONS ON A SAFE SURGERYπŸ’—

How to choose a realistic goal weight

There's no reason to let people into your house who want to challenge your decision about your health. They don't get a vote and they don't get to make you feel badly.

    Not telling anyone

I am 6 months post op and only my husband and children knows. I am 82 pounds down and I am sure it's noticeable. I seen my sister the other day and she asked me what i am smoking[emoji23]. However truth be told I wish I had the gusto to tell others sometimes for me( support, accountability ect.) But also for them who may, just may be open to the idea of the life saving sleeve for them selves. But call me crazy because I sometimes don't want a single soul to know. For fear of failure, wanna keep it to myself so all the haters(secret) stumble. Lol. I kinda don't want them to know what hit em'. [emoji38] Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app
