Its hard to believe that this kind of surgery has been around this long already. Yes I had this done 45 years ago in Traverse City at Munson Hospital. Back then it was an open surgery they staple the stomach and create a small pouch then it is bypassed to the jejunum. While they were doing this surgery back then all the organs were removed and cleaned out. You stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks or so, much different then how it is done now adays. I have maintained the weight loss over the years, however, there was a few years when I had put on up to 40 pounds and just started slowly getting it back off once I realized what I was doing.

Dating? How do we do this??

Hope you figure it all out but I agree with above I'll be taking the year or two to myself to not only lose weight but to tone up, increase my self-esteem and confidence and to be completely ready to put myself out there.

    Is this too much??

actually, that is kind of a lot given your starting BMI. Congrats! But like the above poster said, it's going to really slow down after the first month, so just know to expect that..

    Told to stop losing??

First of all congratulations on your success and happy 1 year! I would be baffled too. I would understand if you had wonky bloodwork or you were closing in on an underweight BMI. I’m curious what her response will be when she responds to your message. I have my 1 year follow up next month, it went by so fast. Keep us posted.

Hang in there. I am a slow loser and here I am almost at my first goal weight. I felt like I was slowing down too much in March so I joined a gym, cut my calories from an average of 800 to 700. My surgery weight was 204 on 8/13/18. I will post my chart so you can visualize even slow losers move in the right direction.

    VSG with a lower BMI

I went throw Kiaser and I did ask if my BMI got lower would they cancel surgery. My doctor said no! They would still offer me waightloss surgery. She said having surgery at this BMI is a good thing because I would be able to get under the obesity BMI and maintain it. I am excited! I am on day 8 and have lost 12lbs.
