    It's Getting Real!

I signed my consent forms yesterday and the NP and surgeon sent in prescriptions to have on hand for after surgery. I've ordered several different sampler packs of protein supplements to get me started after surgery. I got the large sampler pack from here, a variety pack of Iso100 drinks, and a sample pack from Unjury. I also have a list of stuff to get at Walmart to have on hand, such as juven powder, mucinex, allergy medication for post-nasal drip, stool softener/laxative.. etc. I'm about to make a list of things I should do before surgery, too. Any other ideas or things I'm missing?? 11 days to go!

    Eating

I love the recipes at skinnytaste.com. Most of them can be halved and lots of them are freezer-friendly. All the recipes have the nutritional info at the bottom. I plan to make Mexican Shrimp Diablo for dinner tonight.

As of today, July 11th, I completed all of my requirements for my Surgeon & Insurance ! I’m still waiting on the results from my Sleep Study I did June 11th & my Upper GI I did yesterday (he should have it by now). There is nothing left for me to do, but to see my Surgeon for the 2nd time July 30th. Unless I have to do something else regarding the Sleep Study & Upper GI results. I should be receiving my surgery date on the 30th as well & I’m super excited! I had my 1st consultation May 28th. I’m down 16.7 of my required 15lbs ☺️ The only thing I’ll be doing within the next two weeks is making sure the office has all my documents needed that will be submitted to my Insurance. I’m making a call in the morning to make sure they received my faxed papers 🙌🏾👏🏾. So many times I felt like, was this even worth it? But, I had to remember my reasons why I decided to get WLS. I’m hoping for a late Aug surgery date. I’ve been told my insurance is one of the easiest to get approved by, so I don’t see any reasons of why I wouldn’t get approved. I’m remaining hopeful as anything can happen. If you have an IG, follow me! @CurlyGirl_GetsFit

Oh my gosh, congrats!! My insurance is terrible, lol my husband had a sleep study done a year ago and all told it cost us $2400 with his CPAP. I have a $5k deductible so was planning on paying that for the surgery but while the sleep study applies to my deductible the CPAP doesn’t—so that’s just more $$$, sigh. Oh well, worth it in the end. And maybe I won’t need a CPAP machine, fingers crossed!

    Your stall story

I didn't have the "3 week stall" that people talk about. I stalled at the beginning of month 3 and it lasted for 8 weeks. Didn't lose a single pound. I honestly didn't do anything different to get it started again, it just started dropping again by itself. Very bizarre and frustrating. lol.

    Liquid question

I'm 9 days post-op and it takes me 15 minutes to drink a 10oz shake and I try to take longer than that. But I also know I'm having a pretty easy time with all this compared to others.

Could you share a little more info re: stats, daily intake, etc?

It could also be acid or thirst. I got hunger confused with these two things early on, so I would take an antacid and or drink something before running to the food. Good luck to you
