    Conversion to bypass

Hi there new to here. I am 2 weeks post sleeve op. I had a few problems but they seem to be getting better. I have read numerous conversations on here that say basically the sleeve is a waste of tim and bypass is the way to go. Has anyone had success with sleeve and found it a good choice? Hope I didnt make the wrong choice.

    Help!!!!

I was sleeved 12/14/17. Everything went well, I recovered nicely and I have lost 99 lbs and my BMI is currently 23; weight 144lbs. However, I know for certain I’m not getting nearly enough calories / day. There are so many foods I can’t tolerate (mostly all meats) and I only eat 1/4 of what I put on my little kid plates that I’m still using since surgery. There is only one meal that I eat everyday that doesn’t bother me; it’s breakfast. Everyday, I eat 1 egg, 2 pieces of bacon, and 1 slice of toast and I feel fine. But anything else, I feel terrible after I eat. I get hungry but I feel so nauseous and bad after I eat, that I wished I hadn’t eaten. Am I eating too fast? I’m considering checking in with my surgeon to see if this is common or if I need to be checked out. Oh, I also have the worst problem with IBS. I notice that certain foods (Fried foods, Carbonation, anything breaded, and alcohol) sends me to the bathroom that there are times, I don’t feel I can hold it long enough to get to the restroom. Also, admittedly, I do have an issue that I’ve never been able to conquer waiting 30 mins before I drink anything. So I wonder if my stomach issues with eating could be caused by me trying to drink while I eat. If anyone has seen this before or knows what I could possibly be doing wrong, I would appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks! Diahanna

    Helppppp

I had my last pre-op appointment last Wednesday and stepped on the scale to fin I’d only lost 1/2 a pound! I was discouraged😐. Got on the scale today and i’m Down 6. Haven’t done anything different guess my body just needed to adjust. Think positive, stick to the program you have and it will work. You got this!

    Heartburnnnnnn

Chewing up a Tums won't hurt you for occasional heartburn. Just don't count on it as a source of calcium.

I give up on protein :(

I think you are over estimating your ability to eat enough protien. It will be a couple of months before you can fit 70-100 grams of protien in throughout the day. I am a month out and i still need a protien drink to make up for what I cant eat.

    Eating with a dry throat

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat.....[emoji47] I can't drink while eating, Omg kill me now lol. Im 6 months post op and i still hate the fact that i cant have a cold refreshing drink while i eat. That's probably the hardest thing for me. I love this app because i can finally express myself and people understand me[emoji6] I cant be the only one who struggles with eating with a dry throat. Sometimes i will take a sip. Sent from my LG-Q710AL using BariatricPal mobile app

Of course, I am fueling for glycogen to carry me through the run. Most people don’t gain a pound a day is the difference. You seem to find it hard to believe that a type one diabetic could be carb sensitive. I will give your professional opinion to my running coach and my endocrinologist

    Not telling anyone

I am 6 months post op and only my husband and children knows. I am 82 pounds down and I am sure it's noticeable. I seen my sister the other day and she asked me what i am smoking[emoji23]. However truth be told I wish I had the gusto to tell others sometimes for me( support, accountability ect.) But also for them who may, just may be open to the idea of the life saving sleeve for them selves. But call me crazy because I sometimes don't want a single soul to know. For fear of failure, wanna keep it to myself so all the haters(secret) stumble. Lol. I kinda don't want them to know what hit em'. [emoji38] Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app
