    First Week Tips

Day 3 post op for me. Most of my fluids are my isopure drink. I'm trying hard to meet liquid and protein goals, so isopure seems to be my best bet. Once I'm able to tolerate more than a sip at a time, I'm sure I'll be able to add in broth, popsicles, etc. I took my pain prescription at bedtime and I slept 7 hours! I'm super excited about that LOL I am walking a bit every hour, so I think that may be helping to tire me out at night too. During the day, I sit myself up with a ton of pillows behind my back and my head, and another one across my belly for support. I tell myself that my body has gone thru physical trauma just a few days ago, so I'm supposed to be sore and uncomfortable. We'll feel better with each day that goes by, and if we stick to our program, our rewards will be huge! Good luck to us both! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    JULY SLEEVERS

My surgery is already scheduled for July 31st. I received a letter from my insurance company, Anthem BCBS on Friday denying my request for my sleeve surgery. They claim I have not met all my requirements which I have. I've been under my surgeon's care since December. I have met all my surgeon's requirements. BCBS is saying I have not been on a supervised diet for 6 months. I plan to appeal their decision but this could not have happened at a worse time for me. I just found out I have 60 days to move!! Its been very stressful the last few days. I'm super bummed and feeling frustrated and overwhelmed by everything [emoji24]. I've worked so hard to come this far and to get all of this bad news at once. I'm praying everything works out as it should. I'm so depressed. After effects

I am 3 days post op and I’m experiencing diarrhea and chest pains when I breathe in hard and drink gulps of water. Has anyone else ever had these issues?

    I can’t drink enough fluids

Does your dr know that you can't tolerate even sips? My dr wouldn't discharge me from hospital until I could manage 3-4 oz within an hour. I think you should contact your bariatric team asap and let them know what's going on with your body. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pre-OP Diet Blues

My surgery is the 15th. I told my nutritionist I was worried I’d cheat on the liquid diet (2 week) and they were able to accommodate me by changing mine up to allow a little food. However with that being said I have chosen to miss my family’s get togethers for the holiday because I was worried I would be to tempted. Feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to if you’re tempted to eat. You’re almost to your surgery date just have to stay strong a little longer.

    After effects

I had same problem breathing in. So much preasure in my chest. Hiccups and yawning were the worst feeling for like 3 weeks. I did that air breathing in and out thing a few times a day. Diarrhea lasted i think 2 weeks or so then turned into constipation. Im one month post op and still hate drinking water its annoying.

Sleeve to Bypass for Weight Loss

to answer any questions off of the bat... my sleeve was successful in terms of moving things forward. I lost the 100 or so lbs right away, haven't gained it back, solved a significant health problem, and can run! I can get down to 295 or so but I tend to bound to between 310-320 and stay there. Just looking to take the next step.

I am 3 days post OP and I have painful hunger pains. I guess it's not completely uncommon. I was surprised though considering I thought I wouldn't have hunger pains after surgery. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
