New date for my VGS! 7/22/19

My original date of June 17 had to be cancelled because I failed my stress test, which in turn caused the surgery to be postponed. Everything’s OK now & I officially have a new date! July 22nd awaits! I’m excited, nervous & pumped all at once. The countdown begins!

    Almost 5 yrs out

So I'm coming up on 5 years since my gastric bypass operation. I weighed 384 lbs the day of my procedure, as of today I have now broke 170 lbs range that's with the excess skin still hanging on there lol which I assume is probably around another 10 to 12 pounds. Its has been a struggle but worthwhile I look at myself in the mirror and feel like just got out of a concentration camp... Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app

How are your bowel movements that was one of the biggest pains that I had after the initial surgery didn't hurt anymore but the bowel movements you really need to get that stuff moving that was some of the worst pain that I had to endure it after the operation and it lasted about a week or so afterwards and that's kind of right where it hurts up underneath your ribs inside your colon kind of hard to describe the pain kind of travels Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Day 8, quick morning update

Hi Team! Well, I went for a ride to a pharmacy on a nice smooth road. Stayed in the car. Came back. 15 minutes each way. Needed a nap. I am sipping soup broth, protein water, water, ever 5 minutes while I am awake. Now, with all the July 4th food commercials, fast food delivery, fried chicken commercials, I HAVE NO CRAVINGS, very happy. I am thrilled that I work for a living! Day time TV is terrible. I can't yet concentrate on a book for a few minutes yet. I have a small puppy, so I have company every time I get up to move around. I will post later today, keep moving everybody!

That doesn't sound like it but I'm no doctor, continued complaining and testing are the only ways to confirm 😂

    One year mark

Wow, man, your transformation is amazing! It gives me (pre-op) hope that this is the right direction. Also, as a short guy it never occurred to me my fat would make me shorter (duh, it makes sense). I thought I was losing it since I was an inch shorter at last measure than I was in high school. I really hope I gain some height too! Congrats on all that hard work paying off.

I hear you. I'm not a month and a half post op yet, but today looking in the mirror was hard. I had been noticing some changes in my chin and neck, but today all I could see was my big round face. We all have good days and bad days. Try to hang on to those major victories you've achieved when you're feeling down.
