    Evening sweet tooth

Seems like I do a great job at work sticking to my healthy eating habits - greek yogurt for breakfast; P3, tuna or chicken salad for lunch; protein bar in the afternoon. Then I get home in the evening and the craving for sweets intensifies times ten! I'm sneaking handfuls of cereal, eating my daughter's granola bars, etc. I have the calories to spare usually but I need to spend them on healthier choices instead of pure sugar!

Okay, so I was logging my food for the last couple of days (I’m the worst at falling into the habit of logging regularly and find myself playing catch-up a lot) and I realize that I fall into so much repetition in my daily habits. Now I’m not saying that this is necessarily a bad thing, but I’m also thinking that for the best chance of long-term success variety and broadening my palette will be important. I’ve always considered myself a bit of a foodie and love trying new things. I’d love to have a thread here where we all post our fave new recipes or types of foods that we’ve discovered and modifications to previous “unhealthy” foods or dishes to help with weight loss and maintenance along the way. Lol, a girl can only eat so much cottage cheese, tuna packs, and boiled eggs before she gets really bored of her new diet! I’ll start with a new find of mine for the week: These “noodles” are awesome. For the first time since February, I got to have something that reminds me of pasta. So far I’ve eaten them twice. I’ve made “ramen” with beef bone broth, hot garlic sauce and these noodles. Then I made beef “spaghetti” with low carb marinara, lean ground beef, onion, mushrooms, and these noodles. Both dishes were so satisfying and I’m so happy I found this at my local grocery.

Ooooh this is a good idea. I always dry them with paper towels, but this is a way better idea (and saves on paper towels ). Thanks!

Mouse Cat have you seen the movie NIGHT SCHOOL with Kevin Hart? He pulls a form of this, I does backfire but in a good, I think, way. I saw it on Netflix, liked it so much I bought a $5 DVD at WallyWorld of it, so I would have it when Netflix gets around to replacing it. And it made me want to look for other Kevin Hart DVD and movies.

    Evening sweet tooth

I had a couple of bad choice days earlier this week, but it turned out being a good thing because I had just had dental work done and a temporary crown put in and the sugar from the chocolate I ate hurt my tooth like hell, so I have no desire for chocolate now

Stress eating is real! I have been going through some relationship issues myself, and I really turned to food. I love chips, and wow...can I eat a lot of them! For me, the key was just being honest with myself. I had to stop and ask myself if I was really hungry, or if I was eating just to eat. It is much harder than I imagined. I have also learned that I need a real lunch, or I will graze all day long. Eating something more substantial for lunch definitely helps me get through the day without snacking. I have gone back to a pretty strict schedule in terms of eating. Breakfast - Protein Shake - Lunch - Afternoon Snack - Dinner. Without a meal built in over lunch, it is more like breakfast - protein shake - graze all day - dinner. Another thing that has helped me, probably more than anything, is getting back to the gym. I am getting 1 hour of cardio in 5 days a week, and 1 hour of weight lifting in 2 days a week. The exercise has helped so much because it has replaced my stress eating, and it has just made me feel more normal again. I feel like I have really started to lose myself if my current personal situation, and this is making me feel like my old self. I think there are major changes coming for me soon, so I really want to focus on staying healthy and positive. Anyhow, good luck with everything! You look great by the way. 😀

What did you end up doing?

I finally used Keto Diet and also, that my allergies had flared up. Anyone who has known me very l9ng would know I have fought quite a battle with them in the past. One semi- friend told me if I had completed my series of allergy shots, I wouldn't have any problems! The fact that when I was terminated from my job and lost that insurance, I had no money to continue, did not enter into her mind. Perhaps she thought my pretty face would be enough payment. So to her I let my allergist take the blame instead of my bariatric surgeon. Oh if she had been a nicer type I MIGHT have told her the truth. There are people I have been totally honest with but MY LIFE-MY BUSINESS - if you are not paying for it, you are not required to KNOW ANYTHING! As Edith Anne on Laugh- in and Manny Yocum from Little Abner have said" I HAS SPOKEN!"
