    GETTING SURGERY AUGUST 19th!!

FINALLY of 4 months having two bumps in the road preventing me to get approved to finally getting the call Thursday from my surgeons office telling me to call them back to schedule surgery and my insurance approved me! They first gave me the date of July 8 but I had to get an AUGUST date due to work schedule for the next 2 months! I been in the process since Dec. 5 (consult day) I am so excited, after I got the call i called my mom, sister, and grandparents with the news with tears in my eyes. All day that day I was so emotional wanting to scream to cry of happiness. I can not wait for my new journey in getting healthy. Family have asked me if I’m excited and scared. All I’ve told them is both but that I am not trying to think of the scary things. .... just wanted to share with all of you

I like Halo top (as a low cal - high protein ice cream replacement) but waited until I was pretty far out from surgery to try and only occasionally. Use those early days wisely. Consider sugar free popsicles instead. These are usually on our plans. You can also blend protein shakes and frozen protein shake cubes to get to a mlikshake / slushies consistency if you need something of that texture Good luck

    Sore after surgery

Congratulations on a successful surgery. My doctor told me that after surgery my throat might be sore from the breathing tube and instrument they inserted during surgery. I also had on a leg compressor, if you did that could be the cause of your soreness in your calves.

    May 20th

I'm feeling almost normal. I miss eating though but I think as I am able to eat a little more that will wane, as well as just working through it. I am not depressed or overly emotional which is what I was expecting. It has been more pleasant than I anticipated.

    Test before surgery

Everybody has a difference requirement for there insurance company and/or surgeon team. Before I even meet my surgeon, I had a upper endoscopy, HIDA scan, gi nutrition e val, nut e valve, gi doc saying what I needed for surgery and his PA backing up his claim with a PLAN B, my pcp cleared me. The only things that I needed was a sleep study, 24 hr ph test, gastro empty stomach test, blood work, ultrasound, pulm doc clearence, ekg and physical with chest x ray. But, my surgeon team turn in all my paperwork before I had my 24 hr Ph test, ultrasound and sleep study and I was still approved by Cigna. Hope you get everything approve. I am not doing this for weight loss like everybody else on here... I am doing it to help my gastroparesis and GERD to go away. Sent from my SM-G973U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Urine Screening - Smoking

We can't have anything in our system. Even though the oil isn't smoked, but perhaps the absorption into the skin and they just don't know enough about it yet.

I am 4 months out from a revision from lapband to RNY. I have no regrets and would do it again in a flash. I have lost the weight I had regained and am now sitting around my goal. The only time I have issues is when I do something silly like thinking I can eat 🎂
