    Pre-OP Diet

Stay the course and stick to the plan. It will be difficult at first but remember you are one step closer to surgery day. Good luck.

    Feeling "weepy" & sad

It seems like your hormones are readjusting and could be normal. Check in with your psychiatrist as she might be best to assess what you are going through. Wishing you the best.

    Feeling "weepy" & sad

Hoping someone can shed some light on why I might be feeling so sad & weepy. I'm 5 weeks out from GSV and feel great otherwise. I am also diagnosed with depression, but it was under total control before surgery. Do you think feeling sad & wanting to cry is normal, or could my meds not be working as well? I hate to tell my psychiatrist as she didn't want me to have the surgery in the first place. Thanks in advance for your insights.

    "Specialty Plastic Surgeon" too far?

It's truly the distance that bothers me... and the fact this office never returned either of my calls! What if there WAS an emergency or I needed to get a hold of them? Scary thoughts. I dunno - I'm going to consult with "my guy" and see how comfortable I feel after that visit. I would highlyyyy prefer to go to someone local. I live in West Virginia so my options are extremely limited, lol. I'd also be able to stay at the hospital I had my bariatric surgery at, which is wonderful. When I had lipo in 2009 in Baltimore I stayed at the world's worst hospital and it was a nightmare, so I know how important that part can be, too.

    "Specialty Plastic Surgeon" too far?

Good point. I would also assume that there are a lot more plastic surgeons per capita in L.A than Toronto...

the hair loss is temporary - if you even lose hair at all (I did not). Even if you do, if you're like a majority of us, you're the only one who'll notice. It's rare for it to come out in huge clumps and leave noticeable spots. the saggy skin isn't ideal, but it is WAY better than being morbidly obese. Most of us can easily hide it -- but you can't hide being obese. I obsessed constantly before surgery about the loose skin and the hair thing. In retrospect, I can't believe I wasted even one brain cell on either one. In the grand scheme of things, both are extremely minor. I am SO MUCH happier being normal weight!! I would take temporary hair loss and saggy skin ANY DAY over being morbidly obese!

    Pain info

Yeah muscle pain or a lot of 3-renforcing stitching internally, as you continue healing they do start to pull. I am a great believer in warmth therapy, my family said I must be part cat and there are some who just accuse me of being Catty and Those are the people who believe they have a personal mandate from God to run things and that my life especially needs guidance. But there are a few of them in most every family.

I didn't lose any hair. Most people do, but for the vast majority, they're the only ones who notice it. as for saggy skin, yep - very common. Although if you ask most vets, they'll say that they'd take their saggy skin ANY DAY over being morbidly obese. In retrospect, I'm not sure why I wasted one brain cell worrying about it. i am SO much happier now that i'm normal weight!!! Plus, for most people, it's pretty easy to hide - you'll likely be the only one who knows it's there (other than your partner and doctor!)
