    Started the process this morning!

Hi, everyone! I've been lurking for a while. After 20 years of doing EVERYTHING I can think of to lose weight and ALWAYS gaining it back, I went to discuss weight loss surgery this morning. I am moving ahead with a gastric sleeve. My doctor is getting me started with all the bloodwork, endoscopy, etc. I need to do. I am scared but I am ready and tired of living this way. Just wanted to say hi and ask for some encouragement!

    My Journey

Tuesday..Had my GS.. Wednesday, Thursday n Friday Nothing but pure agonizing pain..sips of water with meds only, as my Dr. Had me NPO until today.. I was able to order my phase one diet meal. Strawberry Suger free jello..and chicken broth..the pain I feel when I swallow.. I worked really slow on the jello n left the broth alone.. My head has bin pounding due to my caffeine withdrawal..how I need my coffee...hope everyone is doing well... Sent from my LM-X410(FG) using BariatricPal mobile app

You look amazing! I do have a question, how is your skin issue? My biggest worry is turning from a big, fat guy into a disgusting skin monster.

One thing is that it helps flush out your system as you metabolize stored fat.

    No more meds!!!

Congrats! Thankfully, I've already gone off one (of three) diabetes meds and my hbp meds have been cut in half. Hopeful that after surgery the others will be unnecessary quickly after surgery.

    Hanging skin

You can Google loose skin after bariatric to get an idea of what best and worst case senerios can look like. Loose skin is an unkown factor of your weight loss. Age, how long you have been obese and amount of weight lost will be factors. Plastics are an option. Self pay. Some insurance companies cover if the skin csuses mobility issues or rashes.
