The number one thing I see people complaining of is the issue of your family still needing to eat when you can't. Make sure they know you are likely to get hangry, and - if at all possible - it would be helpful they could refrain from eating trigger foods in front of you. Its really hard to smell pizza in the house and know that you can't eat it. But you also have to know that this is a choice you are making and not them, you can't tell them not to eat certain things just because you can't.

    New here looking for advice

So I can’t figure out this site. I want to add May surgery to the line up. I’m going for the by-pass on May 1. I’m doing the pre op diet now and it’s not that bad. I started this journey at 229 lbs and am at 190 now. Hoping to loose 6-10 pounds before surgery. Which can’t be hard. I exercise with YouTube and walking my dachshund pups who keep me active Insurance is approved and wow this is really happening. Can’t believe it. I’m so excited for this I am 4 foot 9 And being this weight. I kinda look like a blob and I think once I loose this weight I’ll love myself. I like me now. But will love me later I have a support system. My sister and boyfriend and his family And I still see my Counceling people. Why. Because they are helping me out a lot. And thought with a group of may surgery people we will have something in common Yeah for May !!!!!

,They should realize this is very important to you, be proud you have raised such a responsible individual, that's something many parents hope to do. There will be moments when you can cheer how adult they are, others when the fearful son or daughter will emerge again. This is a rite of passage, as many others are, the main difference major surgery is involved. But listen to their fears, reassure them you will be there emotionally as you always have been, and love, lots of love, even if it's stroking their hair. Everybody on Gods Green Earth deserves to be loved and 💘 in return. And that is the fundamental message in this all!

I'd probably just do protein shakes for a day or two until my stomach settled down. You're way too early out for tomato soup (acid) and crackers (simple carbs) - so that's probably why your pouch rebelled.

    Post Op Weight Loss

You can't compare pounds to pounds given everyone starts at a different weight, age, gender, all sort of things. With sleeve you're supposed to lose 30% of your excess weight in 3 months, 50% of your excess weight in 6 months, and 70% of your excess weight in 12 months. I'm at 4 months and I've lost 35% of my excess weight

I would try some Pepto and then be careful what you eat and drink going forward.

    Weight Regain - Need advice

@Vikingsfan8178 all advice above is great. many OP lose weight, then for whatever reason, start to re-gain, then feel bad, then eat more and gain more weight. Vicious cycle, most of us have been there.😒 i would suggest finding a support group. you probably will find other VETS that can encourage you, or more probably you will meet newbies, OP just starting - and they are optimistic - and that feeling is contagious - remind yourself how terrific you were/and still are - it's hard, but you can/will get back on that wagon -you remember that great feeling from before realizing/admitting to yourself you have a problem/issue is half the battle. keep reading the board, you'll get more inspiration, and hear OP struggles too. You are not alone, remind/tell yourself that you are NOT a failure we are all here to help each other☺️ good luck kathy

you are 100% correct. The sleeve is just a tool. We have to work it, but dont beat yourself up. Change your behaviors. FInda therapist that can help you get to the root of the food issues. It will help. Also find an accountability buddy. One that is local to you and that can help keep you accountable and not enable you. RId your home of the foods you should not be eating. Start with a clean slate. You can do this! you have the knowledge of what to do, now just implement it. Make yourself incentive boards.. WAY TO GO Boards, motivational boards.. Good Luck
