    Gas after surgery

I’m 11 days post op. The random gas pains stopped for me after 7 days. In 11 days I have had 3 bowel movements, so sounds normal.

    Just had surgery

I would report the nurse! I work at a hospital and that would not be tollerated here. Each person is different and will react differently. I hope you will feel better quickly. I had my sleeve in Mexico, and there was not a "drink this much" rule. Hopefully you'll get to go home and rest.

    kicking sugar

So, is it going to be easier to kick sugar out of my life prior to surgery or after? I am leaning towards after, since i won't be eating, and only mu liquids and purees for quite some time. I think I would be just miserable if I attempted to go completely off at this point. I of course have reduced, but not 100%.

    Skin??

Thank you both for responding. I have heard that physical exercise does help the skin to be more elastic.

    Just had surgery

I had an extra night in the hospital after my surgery because I wasn’t drinking. I had a lot of air or gas and it prevented me from wanting to drink anything. The only thing that helped was walking. The nurses would help me out of bed and walk the hallway with me. This helped ease the gas pressure and I was able to take more fluids. The pain medicine was also a lifesaver. I took small naps after and when I woke I was ready to walk and drink again. But the biggest thing was the support of the hospital staff. They were encouraging and caring. I think you should let your surgeon know that the staff is being less than supportive.

Yeah so true I've read many times people doing the wrong thing instead of going stage by stage from liquids they jump to eating solid too soon I don't see the point going through all this surgery and costs just to continue to make the wrong choices. You have to be completely prepared to change your whole life and everything you put in your body for the surgery, not just for health but because you can do damage if you skip steps.. I say to those people do more research before committing to surgery!! I've personally been researching for months reading 100s of posts and articles..

Intertrigo is that red, burning rash that happens from moisture and friction. Something I call "chub rub". Aside from good hygiene, the goal here would be to keep the area dry and reduce the friction. When my son had it, the doc had him sit exposed under a lamp. Me, I just used Gold Bond powder. That always seemed to do the trick. They do make something called "monkey butt powder", same principle. If I really needed to dry it out, I just used a hair dryer on low setting (you do not want high heat in tender areas). If you think it's truly a fungal infection, you may need your doctor to diagnose. There are also anti-fungal powders out there. I would not recommend a cream/ointment because the causative factor here is moisture. Why would you want to introduce more moisture?
