    Total loss

I am 8 weeks into my weight loss journey... my total loss is 27 lb... I am thrilled with this loss... I was stalled for about 2 1/2 weeks and I think I am moving past that... it feels good not worrying about losing ... I am fine with a slow loss because I know it will come off eventually...

Its hard to tell a difference sometimes when you see yourself so often, usually others who havent seen you in a bit notice right away. But photos really really help. They often catch the subtle transitions we miss. Thats why the VETs often recommended taking them at the start of your journey. And sometimes body dysmorphia comes into play where people don't have an accurate mental/realistic view of themselves at all.

March 2019 sleeve weight loss buddies

My surgery was yesterday. I guess I was expecting the worst and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I haven’t had any nausea and I’m not having any pain when taking sips of clears. I’ve been taking walks and really feeling pretty good. So excited to hear abt everyone’s journeys. Good luck to you all!! CRF

    Fear of being thin

Being in emotional pain for the better part of 45 years and now in physical pain for several years and after dozens of failed attempts to lose weight, I've decided on bariatric surgery. Surgery is scheduled for March 6, 2019. I was excited for about a minute... then the fears set in. How drastically will my life change when I lose the weight? Will my husband and I still love each other? Will our lives take such different paths that we grow apart? What will family and colleagues say/think? Am I vain for wanting to do this? Then there is the uncertainty of success... Can I truly commit to this new lifestyle? Will this be added to list of failures? I am committed to this decision and yet as I sit here while the family is still asleep, with tears streaming down my face, I keep asking myself "why are you afraid to be thin?"

    Full from medication alone?

Hi there! I’m just shy of 2 weeks post op from my RNY and I haven’t yet hit my target for liquid consumption. So I would say it’s totally normal as you heal that you find yourself full from meds. It’s only been within the last couple of days that I’ve been able to consume closer to 60 ounces of liquid.

    Time off work

I told my surgeon patient coordinator that spring break will be best. All I am saying at work is I am taking spring break off since my little one will be home as well as my college kids.
