    Not losing as fast

    when I was where you are, I'd lost 28 lbs (16 lbs the first month,12 lbs the second). I was a slow loser the whole time, but I ended up losing over 200 lbs. Everyone's rate of weight loss is different depending on so many factors (age, gender, starting BMI, metabolic rate, etc). Your commitment to your program is going to have a MUCH greater impact on your eventual success than your rate of weight loss will, though. So just stick to your program, follow the rules, and the weight will come off, either fast or slow.

    Protein goals and Fruit

    Be careful taking nutritional advice from someone without bariatric expertise. Our needs are different and since our volume is so restricted, you have to do a balancing act.

    Sweet bell peppers and sweet cherry tomatoes. And Pink Lady apples. I just love 'em, they are such a treat whereas before I would have turned my nose up at them. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    A scale

    I purchased a Weight Watcher’s scale from BJ’s for $20. It is a great scale and accurate. The weight mirrors the scale in the doctor’s office.

    Submitted = Still waiting

    Yah... After everything is complete, you've jumped through hoops to fulfill all of the requirements and you're waiting for the approval, it can be pretty nerve wracking. Hang in there and hopefully the next call you get from your Dr's office is the one to schedule your pre op appointment. Best of luck on your journey beyond surgery, it really is a life changer. ❤️

    Nash, exactly the same for me! I watched it from time to time before, but now that I'm scheduled for surgery (March 4), I find it much more compelling. For one thing, I now understand the procedures they are having (and I'm horrified at how poorly some of them eat after surgery). I talked about the show with my surgeon, and she hates it because it's very hard to relate to the people on that show. She would like to do "My 300-Pound Life" that shows normal, relatable people getting surgery to de-mystify the process and inspire people.
