    Fear of being thin

Being in emotional pain for the better part of 45 years and now in physical pain for several years and after dozens of failed attempts to lose weight, I've decided on bariatric surgery. Surgery is scheduled for March 6, 2019. I was excited for about a minute... then the fears set in. How drastically will my life change when I lose the weight? Will my husband and I still love each other? Will our lives take such different paths that we grow apart? What will family and colleagues say/think? Am I vain for wanting to do this? Then there is the uncertainty of success... Can I truly commit to this new lifestyle? Will this be added to list of failures? I am committed to this decision and yet as I sit here while the family is still asleep, with tears streaming down my face, I keep asking myself "why are you afraid to be thin?"

    WOOOOWWWWW!!!!

I had my surgery on February 15 & I’ve already lost 17lbs. So far no issues with nausea or vomiting. So far so good. If I keep this up I’ll be in my swimsuit by summer!🤗👙

    Liver shrink

And it's a really great feeling afterwards when your surgeon tells you the surgery was a breeze! That's what it's all about..shrink that liver!

Yeah I'm sipping from a cup now. But I take a full breath and exhale before I drink so I don't get in as much air. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Bad gas pains 😩🥺

I have never had any issues before with my gallbladder until now so that’s weird definitely has to be part of the surgery

    6 month post-op weight loss

I am down 45 lbs in just 2 months after having sleeve surgery . It’s been pretty steady with occasional stalls. My appetite is non existent as long as I get my protein in . I work out a lot and am able to do all I need to on 800 calories a day . I stick with at least one protein drink a day to ensure I get enough protein .

    Very low again

Thank you both for simply acknowledging the post. I've got pre-surgery problems to solve work-wise and have always tended towards the bi-polar. Calmer tonight. Not least cos my fabulous other half just let me sob for 20 minutes while keeping kids clear. I've been such an odious PMS-like hair-trigger mess on and off and last couple of days family got it in the neck as couldn't vent at boss or clients. New routines. All about new routines. And decent bed times. Must get back to that. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

I see fast and slow weight loss with each type of surgery. Many factors, age, sex, medical issues, hormones, medication and complications. 60% of your excess weight is the average weight loss with the sleeve. Whatever procedure you choose, try not to get caught up in how fast you lose. Even if you are a slower loser, you will still lose weight. Also, don’t compare your weight loss with the rates of others. It will make you crazy. Have I noticed weight loss can be slow with the sleeve? My weight loss was fast with the sleeve. I got to my goal of 140 in six months. I’m four and a half years out and maintain in the 130’s

2 week liquid diet starts today!

I assume its three shakes plus the foods you have mentioned in your post? You could try make a fairly basic ricotta bake adapting to the egg and ricotta cheese amounts you are able to have. When I was on my pre-op diet which allowed only three shakes and low carb vegetables, a few times if I needed something different I would have cottage cheese or chicken in place of the shake but made sure it was to the same calorie count or protein amount as the shake. I would have the low carb veges with it. It wasn't the right thing to do, and I certainly don't want to encourage you to do it, but it did save my sanity and kept me on track for some of the time, unfortunately I wasn't the best pre-op person, thankfully I am much better at post op haha

    Bad gas pains 😩🥺

Call your surgeon's answering service. Pain high in your back after surgery is gas, but this far out, that is unlikely. You need to rule out a leak or gallbladder issues.
