So excited. Put my stats into a BMI calculator and realised I'm no longer overweight. Yay. Still got a bit more to lose as my middle is still too thick to be healthy but being in the healthy weight range again feels amazing!

GENEPRO clumps up in cup of soup

I only add my protein to something warm AFTER I've warmed it and after I've made sure it's not over 140 degrees. As FluffyChix said above, all proteins will clump when it's put in something too hot. Happened to me last week. I had a day where I wasn't feeling so good, so I just wanted some broth. I keep Unjury Chicken Soup flavor in my pantry at all times and I was too impatient about checking the temp. My broth was undrinkable. Weird chewy clumps that were very unappetizing.

    B12 yuck

I actually like the taste of Bariatric Advantage B12 sublingual black cherry flavor. I buy it from the store on this site.

    Salt and Artificial Sweetener

I’m pre-surgery so of course I have no real clue. But I love artificial sweeteners and my nutritionist says I can keep using them post surgery. I could never get all my water without drink drops to flavor my water

I just saw my PS and he won't do anything until: 1. I've lost ALL my weight. 2. Have been at my final goal weight for 3 months without changes. *and he's being kind about the 3 months, cuz he usually requires 6 months without changes.

    Alcohol

Thanks for the advice guys. I dig y'alls passion and commitment! It's evident that y'all are winning the battle of obesity. I should have made my question a little more clearer. I totally understand that alcohol equals useless calories and can lead to poor choices in general, namely food consumption! I was referring to the sleeve itself, and the potential harm that alcohol could have on the healing sutures and such. As of now, I am self funding my revision (appeal in progress), so I am in no way planning to waste my hard earned money and sabotage my potential success. But having said that, I still want a life! I am a very light drinker and may go months without nary a drop. There are times and occasions that I like to be social and partake in the "party". That's all. Thanks, Ray

    Alcohol and RNY

How long ago did you have your surgery? My program doesn’t have any restrictions on alcohol (which I don’t know that I agree with). Anyway, you do want to be careful - your new tummy is sensitive, you’ll feel tipsy or drunk a lot quicker, there are a lot of empty calories and (most disturbing to me) there are certain studies that have shown post WLS patients can have a higher tendency for alcohol dependence. Addiction runs in my extended family, so that is something I’m going to be careful and mindful of. I’d give it at least a couple months and then start with something easier on the stomach. I don’t even know what that would be - red wine ?
