New here and just had surgery

You may show a loss at 2 weeks if you have lost your surgical overhydration water weight, otherwise at a month or 6 weeks you should have a pleasant surprise coming! Everybody is different, but that is a good rule of thumb. And as you go further out there may be even more varience, I know an almost surgery day twin, lost only 38 pounds, then there are people like me who are in the 60s, same surgery , our bodies just reacted differently, she's lost less but went down 2 sizes, I've only gone down 1, I'm still a little envious but she started out at a different weight point than me, Its still okay, when all said and done!

Don't get totally discourage. Try to find any silver linings and golden seams. You could technically continue a modified pre op diet and lose even more weight, like Boss, prior to Surgery You can also just stay engaged and accountable by joining us here

15 Months Post, lots of the same patterns. Routine foods occasionally eating out planned splurges. Calories most days not above 1200 except during luteal phase when I need more. Exercise is walking most of the time but recently started jumping rope again as a part of a challenge. Created a January challenge and gave up protein cookies. I lost a few more lbs. Newest weight is 151. Change in weather means im sick, but running a FEBRUARY challenge. Still a good choice

    Starting the process

Thank you for your reply! Luckily I'm in Canada and covered by my Inuit status as well as MCP, the only thing I'll need to cover is my flights to and from the city in our province with the bariatric team. I had a referral sent in for the VSG procedure but hopefully this education process now will tell me if that's my best option. All my research says yes but the doctor's may give me other info. Yes! I'd like to start getting into the right diet so that it's sustainable!

You look amazing! I don't know if you realize how much of an inspiration you are to so many people not just with your weight loss but the time you give of yourself to help others. Wether it's a kind comment or advise to somebody who needs it , you always seem to be there for everyone. Congrats on earning that XS!

@Clementine Sky hey bud - nice to see you , sorry about circumstances. since the implants are so expensive, do you have to delay getting things "fixed"" both sides, prob!! That's terrible - are you in pain, or "inconvenience? which is still terrible. must be a funny/awful feeling. soup, cauliflower are great suggestions. "maybe" chili, cottage cheese, yogurt i agree as always, track your food in MFP but...in my opinion, since your teeth/mouth are uncomfortable - i wouldn't worry too much about calories etc (don't go crazy of course!) you have a different/sad predicament - hopefully you'll be able to fix teeth, sooner than later. keep smiling😁 hugggggs kathy

    Beef, and pork

After RNY surgery, the part of the stomach that processes fats and sugars was cut away from your stomach. But after about a year, the intestines realize that something is amiss and evolve to be able to process fats and sugars again. Since you are 15 years post-op, your body can probably handle fats and sugars without dumping at this point. I am not saying you should begin using processed sugar again, only that the effect will be different now. You might try beef and pork again. Since you are many years out, your tolerance may have changed. It also depends on how the meat is cooked. But if chicken, turkey and fish can keep you satisfied, then maybe you should just stick with these.
